i called the service center and am running it in next week and they will do it while i wait,
Im also having the jog adjust looked at as one is looser than the other when its on full tilt and he quoted me 70 pounds.
Not saying that this is what happened, but I do think too many DJs like to slam those Cue and Start buttons too hard. I've never understood it. You just need to lightly touch the button. It doesn't work any better by hitting it as hard as possible.
Again, this is not an accusation, but an observation I have made of many DJs using CDJ players.
I am the only one that uses mine and 2 of mine have went bad already, I baby them too, I don't press any harder on those then I have on my 1000's that lasted years without needing repair
the tact switch is so cheap though and easy to replace so its no big deal
To be fair i probably am guilty of hammering it and i do play my dex weekely and with a few beers and the type of music i play i am guilty of getting into the groove and bouncing around and enjoying what i do.
so i wouldn't rule it out :)
LOL,, nice!
Well yeah... sometimes you really "BOUNCE" in your booth and then yeah you tend to slam those things :( But my 1000mk3's i use at home and out last long.... since they don't come out alot but most clubs i come have 2000's and yeah.. you BOUNCE in your booth.
I took my deck to the shop today as its only an hour from me and the guy took it apart while i waited and got to see the grim ceremony :)
2 new switches (play and cue) fitted for 50 pounds and my deck is good as new,
well happy,.... here we go again ,,
oooh and i did see a beer covered cdj2000 in bits :( almost brought a tear to my eye!!
Beer anyone? im off for a mix :)
Ehmmm i don't want to get you off your cloud but the button repair costs 11 euro's here and i guess your whole platine got replaced which is the more expensive method...
yeah, they simply replaced the one board which consists of both play and cue buttons and led's, the board is like $50 (US), mine went bad and I simply replaced just the one switch on the board for $6 :)
I didn't purchase the extended warranty where I got mine on monday. Reading threads like this gets me really paranoid. Should I have gotten them? They really won't leave my house and I'll be the one to use them all the time.
And by "should I have gotten them?" I mean the extended warranties.
<EDIT> See below. </EDIT>
this will be pulled very shortly, you are not really supposed to post tech support videos showing how to do stuff like this, just a heads up
You think you 'worn' it out? cmon man wore WORE! it out.
lol wore / worn same thing,
whatever the case its fixed and im happy :)
Same here have a worn out cue button anyone know where i can purchase them?
Check the tech support links on the top right to contact your nearest service center.
The amount of ppl I have seen with this problem occurring to them, (including myself - who doesn't use the 2000s that much) I have to question where it is overuse or poor build quality, as brichi says the 1000s lasted years without such issues occurring...
Thanks Pionix

With over 2 years of smashing the granny out of it on a weekly basis whilst pissed up i expect something to break at some point :)
