cdj 900 freezes when trying to play usb/cd's

hi i am also having some trouble with both my cdj 900 units as they seem to randomly freeze up when trying to read a cd or mp3 file on a usb stick the eject button light will start to flash but the units do nothing and you are then unable to use the units untill you turn them off then back on and press the eject button before they load the cd/usb again this seems to happen randomly with mp3's on a usb stick AND with cd's that it has already previously played not 5 mins before it crashed/freezed and when you try to load a different cd/usb it appears to try and load but just does the same with that track on cd/usb untill you hit it lucky and it decides it will read a track but by then you have waited 10 mins missed your mix, i have them linked together via a new cable along with my usb which is new and FAT32 format my cds are of mixed makes but that does not seem to make a difference as some like model cd's play others dont and i am on firmware 4.10

i also have a problem with searching a track sometimes the unit will not search at all for at least 10-20s before working properly again i have found that if i push the jog wheel when this happens the search buttons work as they should

just to add just before this freeze issue happens the scroll wheel that you use to select a track lags badly and becomes unresponsive before finally moving again but not at a users request it will jump between a number of tracks and when you finally pick your track it will then start the freeze issue above making the unit a expensive paper weight

i also have a small issue of when i load a cd the unit will not start on the main menu of the cd but randomly select a track to start on so i then have to press back a few times to get to the main menu although this is a small issue it is stall an annoyance!

@John > Where do you buy your tracks from? Do you use Rekordbox? Does this happen with seemingly random files or a group of files in particular?

i buy my tracks from track it down i burn and use both 1.54 rekord box and dragging the mp3s over foto my usb stick the cds are i think are burned with nero not sure been a long time since i burned a cd but this issue seems to happen at random times and when it happens it refuses to read any of the other mp3's on both both the cd or usb stick and seems to happen to both decks at first i put this down to a firmware update but even after the update this has continued and it just seems to be getting worse

to add it can freeze up with quantized and non quantized track reguardless of what i do

yeah i tried to format the usb a few times now no joy and this doesnt just happen on the usb either this also happens to cd's too it even happens to tracks it has just played for instance you search through a track to get a idea what it sounds like hit previous track to go back to the start and it freaks out flashes at you and refuses to do anything including eject untll you turn it off and back on and press eject before it loads otherwise it goes back to flashing again then if your lucky it will load the same cd without any problems the 3rd or 4th time i know its not the cd's as i have had this happen with new burned cd's and with reallly old cd's and different branded cd's.
