Sorry BriChi, but this is absolute bull****. If Pioneer has done their job and has given fixes, which has not happened till yet, I wouldn't say a word.

I can put a trim kit on the 2000's too if i want :)

Fine! But there is no need to do this, because the hardware from its possibilities should do it without any trim! The CDJ 2000 is possible to give waveforms out, because, they were not analyzed "on the fly", they were analyzed in RB.

And your OS 6 blaaa, all the other features are working! (Passbook, do not disturb...). To use your picture, Pioneer should implement all the features, and if MT is not working because of to less processor power, then, like the turn by turn, they can leave it out! But for the rest, there is no need of a better hardware.

but they're not, turn by turn maps and siri don't work on the 3gs and the 4 and thats 2 of the biggest selling features on ios5 (siri) and 6 (maps)

Look, BriChi at a point you are right but also Gerd and other ppl are right too.

right, they should keep supporting the 2000mk1 until the bugs are worked out, I personally dont see them adding all the features from the nexus to the mk1 though, would be nice if they added a couple though that are strictly fw based and not hardware limitations

and a point I made earlier is the only hardware limit I can see is the memory the FW is stored on, If they allocate 64mb for fw and then they try and add all these features to the 2000, obviously the fw file would exceed what the deck can hold, I am just guessing at this, I am not sure what the memory is inside but it makes sense that that could be a hardware limit they are talking about,

If that is the case, then poor future planning on their part to not allow for additions to the FW if needed.

and 1 last thing to add to to make ya feel a little better, sometimes you dont always want what you wish for in the end, the nexus is buggy as hell with all new additions, I cant even use them right now

Also Pioneer since they discontinued the cdj2000mk1 from the beginning of this year, it will be proper to inform ppl that a new cdj is coming out in September so that ppl who intended to buy these players will wait in order to buy the new one with the same amount of money. Imagine you bought your cdj2000mk1 end of August this year how would you feel when with almost the same amount of money you could buy the nexus a few weeks after. You would feel cheated.

Then again they wanted to sell as many players as the could cause there was stock, that's why they kept it a secret.

I challenge Pioneer to give the specifications of hardware (CPU, Memory etc) of cdj2000nexus and cdj2000 so that we compare. But I quess this is a secret too.

ummmmm, no they didn't, Pioneer only shows the white 2000 as discontinued which is right because they were "limited", the normal 2000 is still a product on their website NOT under the discontinued list like you can see below

I really hope that someone smart enough will hack the firmware into pieces and put an end to this pioneer greed. They made it possible to run Siri on old iphones and im quite sure someone out there is smart enough to make a nexus firmware run on mk1. Pioneer deserves this. And its called karma!

well for one I am not trusting what rumor sites say, lol. As far as the wikipedia one, if thats correct, then pioneer needs to change it on their site,

i hope so too but you cant hacking an iphone which millions of people own and the demand for siri is very high vs adding an auto loop to a cdj, lol

let me try that again

You guys have to look at it this way, all we want is an edit feature for this support site and we cant even get that LOL

The Nexus might have the new features but they are seriously buggy and as BriChi said, they are unusable really. I would take my previous CDJ 2000 Mk1s back if it was an option.

Kind of hard to admit this to myself but the huge expense of upgrading to the 2000 series(nearly £5000) has not been a good one for me although  it is  not all bad but have to point out that the once mighty Pioneer have left ALOT of Punters deflated by the plain fact that the Players , Mixers & software are not upto scratch and Pioneer are pushing ahead with more products without fixing the FLAWS. Do not get me wrong here as the equipment is always at the front edge of what can be done in this field. I feel that the equipment I own is kinda left in limbo with dodgey firmware updates that I don;t want to install because not only have problems with features such as MASTER TEMPO not been fixed despite that on the 1000mk1 it worked fine but Djm 2000 issues still need to rectified and nearly all rekord box updates after 1.53 seem to crash and freeze and many other woes ! The gear is still sh*t hot but PIoneer need to set aside the resources to get it working correctly and install the confidence back to the loyal customers before breaking out more flawed firmware updates or more flawed models in which we loose faith in ! here is where my kit is left at but operational :

2 x CDJ2000 mk1 = f/ware 4.05 (as purchased)

DJM 2000 ver 2.01

Rekord Box ver.1.53

I don't feel that after reading the forum site that updating beyond this has been a plus (very disappointed about how the Master Tempo was abandoned)  My set up is working  and I enjoy using it loads but what is was marketed to do is just not happening, for me and that's a big Problem for future purchases as far as I'm concerned despite the difficulties , GET YOUR CUSTOMER  SREVICE ,GET YOUR MARKETING AND GET YOUR TECH SORTED PIONEER YOU ARE BETTER THAN WHAT YOUR SHOWING US !

@Xador > I can see from your post you actually took time to read what I said, so thanks - I appreciate it. Yes, the DJM2000 soundcard specs was a mix up and there's nothing I can say only apologise for it.

@Kiki > Please keep the posts specific to each subforum.

@GlasEye2 > While no announcement has been made about future updates, we have given as much information as we can. I'll repeat it again here: Pioneer have, in no way, made any announcement that they are discontinuing support for the CDJ2000.

@dtm > I'm sorry you feel that way.

@Dream Treez > Thats entirely fair. You feel the CDJ2000nexus don't fit your needs so you don't need to buy them.

@Leee > Very sorry about the freezing - I hope you've read the thread where I've updated to show the engineers are on the case.

@Geoff > But on the CDJ2000 there were no features being 'restricted'. Perhaps it could have been worded better. If there was any confusion, thats why the forums are here to answer. There was no communication breakdown in relation to other tweaks - there were not the target of this updated and deemed not relevant to be contained within the release note.

@mr_fy > Please open another thread with this issue. This is only going to get lost in the void here.

@Sonare, @Michel @Niels and @thano > Look, the CDJ2000nexus reads the DATA ONLY from the CDJ2000. The CDJ2000 acts as nothing more than a USB stick host. It does not analyse the data. The Nexus analyses the data. There is no lying.

@dtm > Can you also get Siri to work on your iPhone 3GS?

@BriChi > Whats the point in going to the added cost of bumping up the memory for features that don't yet exist but we may develop in the future? This is just my thinking - I don't know the memory capabilities.

@dtm > Reverse engineer firmware for use in a player its not supposed to be used in? Sounds messy.

@Gerd > And if the jailbreak happens to ruin your gear, who will you be asking for help then?

@Sonare > You paid money to buy a player that had the functions listed. I doubt you bought a player on what it may have the capability to do in the future, right?

@Gerd > Thats simply not true / illogical. No discussing price on the forums.

@Dream Treez > BriChi is right in making his comparison because I, as a representative of Pioneer, has said that:

PIONEER IS CONTINUING TO SUPPORT THE CDJ2000.

Right, thats all that answered. If you haven't read all my posts in this thread then go back and re-read the thread. There is too much going on here with too many users about different issues that its impossible to track everything. If you do have an issue, please create a thread and I will answer it there.

Also, if you haven't already noticed me saying it:

PIONEER IS CONTINUING TO SUPPORT THE CDJ2000.
