Was thinking of purchasing the CDJ 2000 Nexus...

I say "was" as I have loged onto here and seen all the problems people are having with them, Jesus!!

Im selling my CDJ 900s which have never missed a beat to upgrade to the Nexus, is the general advice on this.......DONT DO IT??!

Has the recent firmware sorted any of the problems?

Also, another idea, maybe I would be better off upgrading to the CDJ 2000MK1 as these can be had at decent prices at the minute and waiting untill the problems with the Nexus has been sorted before purchasing?

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Paul

Excellent! So, to sum up,

  1. Dont buy the CDJ 2000 Nexus beacuse basically they dont work properly in a variety of ways.

  2. Dont buy the CDJ 2000MK1 with the latest firmware because, er, oh they don't work properly either! Brilliant!

So why exactly do I want to uprgrade from the 900's that have never let me down?? simple, I must be mad!

Cheers for all the repliies. Ill be honest I aint now rushing out and spending 3K on the Nexus untill the problems have been sorted. Ill either stick with the 900's for the time being which are excellent decks imo, or pick up a pair of CDJ2000MK1 for under 2K. When the Nexus problems are sorted Ill happily buy them.

@Paul > The issue that has been reported from some users on the CDJmk1 is that the loops drift.

There are some bugs that are currently being ironed out by the engineers in the upcoming firmware. The same also applies for the XDJ-Aero.

Ok Gavin thanks, how long do you think a firmware update is likely to be for the MK1 & the Nexus?

@Paul > No comment on the mk1 at the moment. A CDJnexus update should become available on December 3rd.
