Have you tried re-flashing the firmware?
for the last 3 weeks i keep getting the following scenario when playing live on a regular basis.
playing with 2 x cdj2000 - connected with cat5 cable. music source 120gb usb stick with analysed rekordbox files (105gb mix of wavs and mp3). formula sound ff-4000 mixer
regularly deck 2 without usb music source direct disconnects whilst playing music - music stops then screen goes black, buttons flash then screen goes white, try button presses and they have no response so in effect the unit is in limbo. to resolve i have to attempt to reboot by disconnecting power and powering back up, however when i disconnect power it will not allow me power back up for over 10 minutes. sometimes it then plays fine for rest of night , on other cases as has happened several times it can fail numerous times in one night. obviously cannot trust these in a live situation at the moment. no longer in warranty , took them to local service centre and no joy there on a solution, they say there is nothing wrong with the mechanics or insides. any ideas as i am at my wits end.
tried new power leads, new cat 5 cable, using power surge protect power block , no effect
i would like to add i have been djing with same set up via usb stick and connected units via cat 5 cable and mostly same files for last 2.5 years with no problems previously

Have you tried re-flashing the firmware?
recently updated both units to latest firmware
firmware 4.20
firmware problems... again. 4.2 is the mess champion!
... wish I could post here how you can roll back your FW mate...
not sure it is the culprit, these errors started on previous firmware version so i updated to 4.02 thinking it would solve it last week and the errors continue. its got me baffled
4.20 sorry
Pulse can you shed anymore light on this please ?
@Andy > I'm going to raise the issue with the engineers and wait to hear what they have to say.
many thanks Gavin, its got me flummoxed
They'll probably have a list of questions for you - if so, I'll be in touch asap.
much appreciated
@Andy > The engineers have some questions for you:
・Does this issue occur on the same player? (Player-related?)
・If it occurs on the same player, does the issue also occur when the USB device is inserted into the Deck which has this problem? (Cable-related?)
・What kind of tracks did you play when this issue occurred? (Track-related?)
・As you said this issue started 3 weeks ago, did you export the tracks to the USB device for playback prior to or after the day it first occurred? (New tracks or newly added things related?
it does seem to occur on same player , linked to other player with usb device in
always seems to occur to opposite device usb is connected to (although have swapped cables several times)
tracks played are a mix of 320 mp3 and aac iTunes purchased files
i did do a fresh export 3 weeks ago. clearing hard drive and re-exporting all files as i do now and again for good house keeping
@ Gavin. im a little confused as to how a rekordbox update will fix this issue , can you illuminate me further on this. many thanks
Just downloaded the new Rekordbox and having read the re;lease notes i am still none the wiser on how yjis update will address my issues.
@Gavin : can you confirm the REKORDBOX update will resolve my issues and exactly how : so i can be confident to use these at gigs now safely
@andy > yes, the issue should now be resolved. I've asked for official clarification on the subject.
i appreciate your efforts on this
hi andy, pioneer release notes are usually vague at the best of times. there's usually a lot of undocumented improvements and fixes that they don't communicate. i hope that the new RB fixes your problem though, good luck.
Official confirmation coming in the next few days. We'll post here on the forums when its public.
just did two weekend gigs without a freeze, however for peace of mind, confirmation of what the fix is would be good so i can understand it. the freeze was random before and could happen after a couple of good gigs too so need peace of mind. many thanks cheers ob1
