[CLOSED] e-8309 link access error followed by e-8302 cannot play track(c630)

Setup:

2x CDJ-2000-NXS Running firmware v1.04

1 X Recordbox V2.01

  • CDJ's wired connected to the network

  • PC (windows 7 connected wired to the network, firewall turned off)

I have the following problem.

I just bought 2 CDJ-2000-NXS. I have no problem with playing MP3 files from an USB stick. When I load the same files that are located on my harddrive (c:) I can see them on the CDJ's when i'm in the "recordbox" mode.

I select a file from my rekordbox library and want to play this. then i get the following error.

I see the following error a few seconds - e-8309 link access error

This error is followed by

e-8302 cannot play track(c630)

I already read some other threads here but I'm not able to find the problem. Can you please help me with this.

When i connected the CD's to Rekordbox on my Iphone i can play the files correctly.

Could you please give me an advice or help?

Richard Buitelaar

@dj ChrisP: do you have any server software like NFS running?

Hi,

A few days ago, I replaced my Traktor setup by 4x CDJ-2000 NXS, a DJM-2000 NXS and a fresh installed Win 7 64bit I5 PC (without firewall), ruinning Rekordbox.

Guess what....I have the same issues as described in this topic.

50% of the tracks loaded from RB, results in a Link Access Error.

I can play these song without any problem on the internal RB player.

Also tried Traktor, copy them to USB and play them directly on the CDJ-2000 NSX; no errors at all. So I think there's nothing wrong with the tracks.

Paid a bunch of money for this set and can't use it as 'promised' by Pioneer!

Anyone (especially Pioneer!!!!!) already a solution?

Thanks. André

Basically what we found out is that Rekordbox & ProDJ link, make use of the NFS (Network File Share) Protocol. Because I use my PC also for streaming films to my mediastreamer, I had installed Hanewin NFS Server. Rekordbox uses the same NFS protocol and ports as Hanewin and Hanewin started the NFS Server at startup. Soon as we disabled that, it worked. I even have put it again back to my old router (lINKSYS wag200g), where my internet connection is running through as well, and it still works. (For testing purposes, we set up a different seperate network, as I have 2 ethernet ports on my motherboard with a seperate linksys (BEFW1184) router). So what you should find out if there's any program running using the NFS protocol and disable it. I'm not saying this will solve the problem for everyone, but it did the trick for me. Next testing we'll do this week is take a clean installed Laptop with W7 64bit laptop to see if this runs without any problems.

Just to clearify, Rekordbox set's up it's own NFS Server, which is basically the same one as Hanewin. 2 quite similar NFS servers, using the same ports, don't quite work together...

In my case, there is no NFS service running on this pc. To test, I stopped al services Windows do not need.

Stil same result.

Is Rekordbox fully compatible with Windows 7 64-bit?

I have checked all ports with TCP view.. and all seems fine with regards to conflicts. there are no red marks, no duplications. However when I load some tracks they wont load...  player says loading (while flashing) then finally shows error. then it wont load anything until I re-boot..   I just dont know what to do now...  this is beyond a joke.  Who has any suggestions for re-building or fixing mp3 files... What programs are the better ones..??

OR... ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS...?

Hi,

I booked some progress today;

I added a new (Intel) LAN controller to my PC and disabled the onboard (Realtek) controller....

After this NO single error!!! The CDJ's are playing now for more than 8 hours without issues.

I guess these is an incompatibility between the ProLink protocol and Realtek chipset or drivers...

I hope this helps you all.

Is everyone that is experiencing this problem using a PC? I am leaning towards a PC/port issue. I would love to get this resolved!

HI, I'm using a PC and sovles the issues by replacing the Realtek NIC interface by a Intel NIC.

BTW: First I tried with a cheap USB NIC. This was also working without any issue. Good for laptop use!

I've been  testing now in a nonstop playlist for more than 24 hours. The PC is also connected to my home network/internet and is running a firewall.

In this test I had NO single error! So, for me this issue is solved.

On the other hand, it would be great if someone (Pioneer!) would find a cause for this incompatibility issue!

Rgds, Andre

Thanks for the input Andre! I am using a PC also, but have friends using MAC with no issues. I will have to look into my NIC. Would kind of suck if I have to replace it and spend more $$, just to "accommodate" rekordbox.

@ Andre and others

After reading your post, I have gone and bought a USB - network adaptor.. and as suggested disabled the onboard adapter (which was by chance a Realtek) I had to take a cheap one for now cos thats all I could get...  Plugged it all up and hey presto...  all tracks I had trouble with before all of a sudden work,   Havent done much testing yet but I have a gig tonight. Will let you know how I go..  but it seems initially to have solved my problem.   Fingers crossed.  watch this space.

It is with MUCH EXCITEMENT that I report all problems seem to be solved (for me anyway). and all thanks to Andre. For those having the same problem, I am running a Toshiba PC laptop with windows 7 64 bit hooked up to 2 X cdj 2000 nexus via a switch hub. I Was constantly getting link errors and tracks not loading...  The problem has (it appears) been solved by using a usb to network adapter and disabling the onboard network card (in this case a realtek brand one). Once I did this all problems seem to be gone. I have just finished a 6 hour set non stop with not one error or hickup. I am one very happy DJ ATM.   The adaptor was a no name one and cost me $25 bucks from the local computer store. @ Andre, lucky Im not next to you... Id most likely kiss you or something...      This issue has been frustrating me since I bought the players 2 months ago.  I would have thought Pioneer would have worked this out by now...   seems we (or Andre at least) is / are doing all the hard work for them...   anyway.. I am happy... and I hope this info helps others...    feel free to drop me a line if you want more info on what I did to fix my issue..   djclp@sealandmarine.com.au

And thanks to all who have volunteered any info they could to help others. it made for fascinating reading.

Hi DJ ChrisP,

I'm glad to hear your gig went ok now!

After all, the (work around) solution is quite simple. I hope that Pioneer will solve this NIC incompatability in the very near future...less (new) customers will be frustrated, using there equipment and software.

In my opinion, this kind of forums are very important to solve issue together, as long the manufacturer sits back and wait....after all, we want to use our equipment as it should be.

BTW: My next step is to do some more advance configuration; Dual NIC / separated networks for ProLink and internet / etc.

Anyone who need some help/advice/information about this issue and solution, contact me at info(at)teuling-av.nl or drop a comment here.

Regards, André (Netherlands)

I think it's fair to say that without the constant help of members of this forum, in this case Andre, bri chi and others I doubt pioneer would still have a good 'industry standard' reputation. Their hardware IMO has dropped in build quality since the cdj 1000 & djm 800 era and their software testing of rb seems non existent or at least careless and below par before release, again making members have to pick up the pieces... Thankfully the forum contains so many expert members!

If they can charge premium price for products, maybe its time to employ resident experts aswell. Members shouldn't always have to do all pioneers dirty work in the testing and troubleshooting!

Hats off Andre... seems you nailed the issue on the head. I bought a Belkin usb NIC today for $29.99 and so far so good. I haven't done a long set with it yet, but right off the bat I noticed that I can search and needle search without the deck locking up or freezing (was never able to do that before). Hopefully there will be a software update soon?? *Cough *Cough. I hate to sit here and think that this was something any beta tester using a PC would have caught before this software was released? Thank God for this forum, and everyone's input.

Hi.

Thank you all for dropping a comment about the results after trying my work around.

Unfortunately, Pioneer was NOT one of you!

I logged a serviceticket last Monday...guess what...heared nothing from them.

A 'very professional' behavior.

Oke. Just for the rocord; To all people with this issue. What brand of NIC do you have in your pc/laptop? Is it only Realtek or are there more incompatible brands? Just curious to know.

@Andre    I agree with you,.. thought at least a thanks from pioneer and a headline post for others with some instructions on what is a clear problem fixed..

@ John...  go and buy yourself a USB to network adapter, (or a USB NIC)  install it and disable the onboard one. It solved every issue I had. Then send a big thanks to Andre for working it out. Let us all know how you go.

Today, i have update my rekordbox to latest version 2.0.3.
This laptop with rekordbox is connected to my old cdj-2000 mk1.
Now with rekordbox 2.0.3 i can't load any tracks from rekordbox 2.0.3 to my cdj-2000 mk1 (E-8032 error), just like with my nexus cdj's..
This laptop have also a realteck nic interface.
When i use my pc with a non realteck nic interface with rekordbox 2.0.3, then i can load again tracks to my cdj-2000 mk1.
When i'll back install a lower version (1.5) of rekordbox on my laptop with a realteck nic interface, then the problem is also solved and i can load tracks again to my cdj-2000 mk1.
I think the problem is rekordbox 2..... Versions, maybe latest version.

Great troubleshooting everyone... Over the last year it seems the forum has really changed. There was always Moderators (Pioneer Tech Help) around. I can't remember the last time I have seen anyone but Gavin respond here on the forum??? And he isn't around that much anymore as well. It feels like we are on our own and that's a really bad feeling after spending so much money on Pioneer products. RB needs to be overhauled. And not a version where we are the Beta testers in real world situations. I'm sure if Pioneer asked us, they would have plenty of volunteers to Beta test for them. It seems plain old common sense is NOT being used on there part. They are just trying to roll out the next thing that will make them money... Who cares if it works or not... Other brands Don't have issues like this. And if they do??? They get fixed ASAP and there is a expert Tech there to help.. IE: Silvio @ Denon. Great job Andre!! Maybe Pioneer needs to hit you up for a job? Cause you just did there's for them. Kinda hard to believe that they were even looking at this issue. You would think that a room full of Tech/Software computer geeks would be able to troubleshoot and figure this out?? Makes me think that either they are not troubleshooting anything. And they are just waiting for us to figure it out so then they can figure out how to correct it. Great job guys again.... Good thing we have you.

We're here everyday hitting hundreds of threads. Hundreds. My first priority is reporting user issues to the engineers and answering users questions. Unfortunately, I don't have time to list out everything that I report to the engineers but we're always working in the background reporting and testing. We've a robust beta team that help us out with our releases.
