[CLOSED] e-8309 link access error followed by e-8302 cannot play track(c630)

Setup:

2x CDJ-2000-NXS Running firmware v1.04

1 X Recordbox V2.01

  • CDJ's wired connected to the network

  • PC (windows 7 connected wired to the network, firewall turned off)

I have the following problem.

I just bought 2 CDJ-2000-NXS. I have no problem with playing MP3 files from an USB stick. When I load the same files that are located on my harddrive (c:) I can see them on the CDJ's when i'm in the "recordbox" mode.

I select a file from my rekordbox library and want to play this. then i get the following error.

I see the following error a few seconds - e-8309 link access error

This error is followed by

e-8302 cannot play track(c630)

I already read some other threads here but I'm not able to find the problem. Can you please help me with this.

 When i connected the CD's to Rekordbox on my Iphone i can play the files correctly.

Could you please give me an advice or help?

Richard Buitelaar

You say a 'robust' beta team Gavin, but how are they missing all the issues?

Seriously whoever tests rekordbox needs to be held to account for the number of bugs slipping into the public releases... It's not good enough for an industry standard company!

We know you do your best, but with the amount of products pioneer are releasing surely common sense dictates more forum support for these products,from more admin...

I posted a thread last week regard differences between fields on the info pane on the cdj when using it with rb link or memory cards and unfortunately it wasn't answered. I'm grateful for any help and tine you give, but surely the forum needs more mods given the amount of products and issues

I am sure ALL these bugs have been tested, found and sent to the engineers, After that it's out of the beta testers hands, the engineers I am sure can only fix so much in each release. Although I do agree with you that by now, 3 years later, this program should be rock solid which it's far from!!

@Matias   Maybe try the same fix and see if it works... i.e but a usb-network adapter and see what happens..

@Matias,

Unfortunately, I don't own a MAC(book) to test the configuration.

As DJ ChrisP suggested, buy a USB dongle and give it a try...

There is definately a bug in the Rekordbox Windows version network handling, which  results in the 'famous' e8309 error when running on a Realtek NIC chipset. I didn't find any threads about this error on a MAC.

Maybe, in your case, it has another cause; switch/router, cabling, settings?????  Pls, Tell me your configuration.

Regards, Andre

First of all thanks Chris and Andre for your response.

Im using a Netgear Gigabit Ethernet Switch GS605v4, and i link my two CDJ 2000 nexus, my DJM 900 nexus and my Mac in order to use the Rekordbox software. I wasn´t having any issues on the last weeks, but this week i was using my CDJ and suddenly when i load one song it took a long time to load and then the 8309 error appeared. And also i´m noticing some latency when using the scroll to search thru my tracks on the CDJ...

@Matias

Is there a change in your network setup the last week?

Try to play tracks via the CDJ Link option and see if this is working.

I changed some of the Ethernet cables.

I mean, for example, the cable that was connected to my djm i changed it and i´ve connected it that one into my CDJ. Do you understand?

But that doesn´t have to be a problem.

When i had that Error, i was using the Ethernet cable that was provided in the box of the CDJ 2000 nexus.

Im using the Link option, with my Rekordbox!

@Matias  I tried using all different cables / switches etc. Nothing worked.

Try the dongle option before all else. As with Andre I am not a mac user either so cant say if it will fix it... but its a cheap fix if it does. and totally worth a try.

Does anyone know what brand of Network chipsets are used in Mac's..?

I think the issue just took another turn and gave us another clue?? The reason why I say this is because I have a Mac Book Pro and I don't have any issues. But I have a DJM 2000 Nexus which is my Ethernet hub. So it might be safe to say that if you have a djm900 and your using a Ethernet Hub for the prolink system you will be prone to this issue because of the type of hub your using... Hopefully someone from Pioneer is following our troubleshooting and taking the proper corrective measures?? This is a mess. I truly hope they are working on a new RB for the Nexus prolink gear.

@Matias, DJ Pete

I use 4 CDJ-2000 Nexus in two configurations;

1: All connected through a OEM brand (=cheap, €20,-) switch to a Rekordbox PC (Intel NIC).

2: All connected to the DJM-2000 Nexus switch. PC has a Intel NIC.

In both cases the configuration works 100% without any error.

I only get the e-8309 error when connecting to a PC with a Realtek NIC.

One other strange thing. When I use an mid-range Cisco managed switch, the CDJ's cannot connect..

Probably, this is because of the type of 'lowlevel' network communication ProLink uses.

Try to figgure out what changed the last week, just before the issue started; firmware updates, RB update, IOS update, driver updates, etc....

There must be a logical reason why it stopped working at this moment. My configuration with a Realtek NIC never worked.

Try to reboot your switch/router, check cabling and/or try another NIC.

Is your MACbook Pro wired to the switch or are you using WLAN?

@Matias > Before you go to the expense of buying anything, can you tell me if you have Rekordbox on its own network? Have you tried to play the same file over ProDJ link since and if so, did it work?

@Pete > Pulse and I made a list of our recommended network switches to the engineers. They tested various models and included the recommended make/model on the PioneerDJ.com/support website.

@Gavin

Maybe fix the 'Realtek NIC' bug first?

Even when using the DJM-2000 NXS switch, a Realtek NIC does not work without e-8309 errors.

Yes Gavin im on a Mac using the djm 2000 nexus as my hub. So i'm not seeing the issues. But I guess if you use a PC with the DJM 2000 as a hub and it has a Realtek NIC, you still have issues. So it seems to be a PC issue, and a HUB issue if it is a Realtek Nic involved?? So If a Mac user is having a problem? I would say that its safe to say the hub they are using es no bueno..... Thats about as much Spanish I know. :)

Might be an idea to list the exact year/spec of macbook used - To see if it is a particular one

The macbook is new, i7 processor. My switch is an 10/100/1000 switch. I had this 8309 error only with one track. The day after i had this problem, i changed some ethernet cables and i tried again with the same song and it has load perfectly. But it can´t be a ethernet cable problem. I´m using two ethernet cables that came with the CDJ 2000 nexus and i bought two ethernet cables at Best Buy. When i had this issue, the CDJ was connected with the ethernet cable that came on the box with it.

The rekordbox software im using, is the one that came with the CDJ.

I´m noticing that when i scroll through my playliists on my CDJ there is some latency. Is not doing it REALLY FAST. Is this normal?

Thanks u all for the help. I wish i could solve this problem ASAP!

I have a 2011 Mac book Pro i7. Not sure what my switch is?? But I bought it as a refurbished model from Apple and it had many upgrades... It was born on Nov 2010 and re-furbed on Jan 2011. sold to me in May 2011. Normally would of prices out to $3100 bucks, I paid 1750. Both CDJ 2000 Nexus go into the DJM 2000 Nexus. And then I come out of the Nexus to the Mac. I'm not the only one that don't have any issues...

My question still stands,  What brand of network do apple use in in their macs..?   Could it be realtek..?

@Matais, I would be trying the usb adapter first. I also use a GS605v4 and as i have said.. every problem I had disappeared once I went through usb. We Need  someone out there to at least try it and see if it might solve the problem. Just cos its a mac doesnt mean it cant be the problem.

Chris, I don´t get it. Why do i need a USB to Ethernet adapter if my MAC has a Ethernet output???

BTW, im really noticing latency while scrolling thru my songs on my CDJ while using the Rekordbox Link Funcion. It´s not fast scrolling.

@ Matias   My pc had an ethernet output as well, but for some reason the brand (Realtek) wasnt compatable with rekord box. It would show up errors for no reason and some tracks would not load at all. Half way through a set  the link would freeze and and I would have a cdj in emergency loop.....SO.....After disconnecting from my onboard ethernet (and disabling it) and connecting to a USB one (as suggested by Andre - read all earlier posts) All (and I mean ALL) of my problems were resolved. I have done 4 gigs now (in clubs live) with not one freeze, pause, or even the hint of anything going wrong.   After saying all of this I am on PC, not mac. I am not sure what ethernet hardware apple use in their computers, (Anyone..?)  but there is a real chance that the issue may me related. The adapter cost me Au$25 and its the best 25 Ive spent since I bought the cdj's....  so I again I suggest you try it...  Apart from $25 bucks you havent much to lose...

Okay Chris i will buy it. But i don´t know how to disconnect my onboard ethernet. Apart from that, i have seen a lot of DJ´s using Rekordbox via the ethernet cable of their Mac and it worked good for them. I don´t know why does this happens to me.

This is really sad. Your help and the help of this forum members are awesome, but... Where is the people from Pioneer? I didn´t pay 5 dollars for my equipment, i spent 5000 DOLLARS!!!!!

@ Matias - Hey buddy I hear ya... I paid a similar amount and was very annoyed at the errors I kept getting. There were pc owners replying that it all works fine for them too.   I cant promise that my (Andre's) suggestion will work, but its worth a go. I had my doubts when I tried it but I was willing to try anything that anybody suggested at that point.   If this doesn't work or improve things for you then I am sorry...but I still think its worth a try...    What do you think Andre..?

@Matias / Chris

Two things:

  1. Yes. An other brand (Non Realtek) solvde this issue for 100% for a Windows PC.
  2. I'm not sure about MAC. I searched the internet for the brand of NIC in a MACbook. I found several brand (e.g. Intel, Silicon Labs) but no Realtek.
    As mentioned before, I'm a PC user.

So, maybe there is another cause in this case. I didn't found simular issues on MAC's on the internet. But you never know....

Changing the NIC by a USB type is a very cheap way to test and exclude the NIC.

Troubleshooting is not always easy, so you have to start somewere. And yes, it cost (maybe) some money and (a lot of) time.

I hope thuis will help you. Let me know.

Ok. I will buy that adapter and try it.

Another question. Could it also be a problem of the Ethernet cables?

@ Matias,

Yes, it could be the cabling. A bad cable will result in a low data throughput.

But more likely the switch or the NIC in your MACbook.

Dit you reboot the switch already?
