[CLOSED] so can we get some nice software updates for the cdj 2000 already? it's been a while.

rekordbox is a music library and that's all. the only way i would ever use rekordbox as the music library is if i didn't need to use virutal dj as a visual aid for scratching. in other words. if there is no scratch + zoom feature in the cdj 2k mk1, then there is no need to use rekordbox.

have any of you even seen the latest version of virtual dj? it is so beautiful..

and even then, rekordbox still sucks as a music library. it's so "only use pioneer" oriented. and that's not fair either.

@ Scott. You make some good points but reality is... I'm not the twat at Pioneer saying NO! Has Pioneer gave the 2000 anything? I don't own them so I can't say. If so, feel lucky, if not just remember those who purchased the 2000 knew it didn't have these features and it is what it is. No twat intended ;-)

@ Shahar I know this isn't a Nexus post but curious if the features are available if using VDJ? Not sure if you would know so anyone? It's pretty sad however that (Like you said) Pioneer makes it, "Use our program or loose all these features" (At least for the Nexus) and yet they don't give people a software program in RB that people really want... VDJ, Tracktor, etc... from what I can tell. If your going to force people to use your software or else, at least give the customer a program they want. SO many post seem to state, RB sucks and they want to use something else. You would think Pioneer would get the hint... :-/

Rekord Box may just be a Library but it needs to change to what the people want. I mean, XBOX was a gaming console but now it's everything else. Just because RB is a Library now doesn't mean it always will be, does it Pioneer?

My only guess is for features? The features they say wont work unless you use RB...

But yes. Why RB? I'm sure Pioneer could get these features to work without RB.

my answer to "Why RB", SImple, I like to leave my laptop home and show up with a usb drive to dj, RB lets me do that by presetting loops I like to use and hot cues so i dont have to set it every time I load a new track for the night. 

with that said though, Rb still needs a lot of work, it's far from finished

If you think Rekordbox is bad now, you should have tried it when the 2000 Mk 1 first came out. 

It's gone a long way, but still needs development.

I just wonder though, because the sync features and quantize features on Nexus decks relies on the software getting a good grid.  So it's software based. 

I don't know any software that is perfect every time at creating a good grid.

Warping on Ableton can be troublesome and time comsuming, but when its done it works perfectly.  But I haven't time to warp my thousands of tracks.

Traktor gets near a lot of times, but still is out quite often too.

VDJ isn't bad strangely enough.

Haven't tried mixvibes, but is probably similar to Rekordbox

Itch is often out too.

So what I am saying is that combining software and hardware is probably likely to be a bit problematical.  My problem is that I trust Pioneer to deliver a solution that will work.  This hasn't quite happened yet, but I hope it will do.

Going to make a contentious comment now.   There is a computer and program that can beatmatch at mix with excellent reliability and also puts some musical taste into the whole situation.  The human brain.

Having said that I really want the quantize features to get there so that I can be more creative with loops etc.  I really want sync to work reliably
