I updated the firmware right outta the box and didn't check to see if the HID selection was available then, but since updating I have no selection for HID. (the standard/?? choice option)
I've flashed my cdj 2000 nexus three times now. (FW 1.10) Single file named C2KNXS.UPD. Still do not have that option. Any ideas?
Of course, without this I cannot connect to rekordbox, muchless anything else it seems.

LOL,, you need to read the manual. HID mod has nothing to do with RB, You could have used RB out of the box without an update. HID mode is for programs like Serato or Traktor and it is up the those companies to implement HID into their software, Traktor has done this and Serato is coming soon from what they say
Sorry, I mentioned rekordbox now... :) So again, I have no selection for HID. (the standard/?? choice option) Will that only appear when I also have Traktor running, or is it on the menu all the time regardless if Traktor is running or not?
HID is available for Traktor and other DJ software supporting HID protocol...from my understanding the hid menu only pops up when you have the nexus to traktor or other software connected. I didnt try my nexus player with traktor via HID...

correct, there is no more "HID menu" sop to speak, there used to be because you could select normal or advanced HID but now it's all 1 setting so the decks just see traktor or serato when it is available, you hit LINK, choose your pc and connect to desired deck
