Congrats on your purchase!
Yes, I do believe the USB is included.
Yes, I believe you should update - however, if you have any reservations at all then maybe you should wait.
Now, get on rekordbox and get preparing those tracks!

Hi Zeus,
I bought two cdj 2000 nxs recently. As far as I can remember there was no USB cable inside. I am 100% sure that there is an ethernet cable and an iphone/ipad cable inside but I cannot remember the usb cable.
As for the firmware, there is the chance that you get two cjds with two different firmware versions as it happened to me. There's absolutely no guarantee that your supplier delivers you two units from exactly the same batch with the same firmware installed. In this case I was forced to update the firmware because the network was crashing, most likely because the different firmware on the different units, and indeed it did not crash anymore after the update.
I have no issues with 1.11 firmware other than the well known bug of the master/slave assignment that doesn't change automatically when you stop one deck. I think the issues reported on the forum are from users with big usb hard disks with several thousands of tracks on them. I have no problem with a simple usb memory stick with probably a couple thousands tunes on it.
However, I'd first test and see how it works, then update the firmware only if you have problems with the one that you found on the cdjs.
The only big problem with the CDJs nexus is that they are very addictive and you can't stop playing, but that cannot be solved with the firmware :D
cheers
Julia
@ gav, didnt have a usb cable m8 (as in a printer to usb cable) but it did have a usb to some other connector, maybe an iphone\ipad cable (julia mentions this).
@ julia thanks for the feedback re the fw, its sitting 1.06 just now and I only bought one deck (other deck is a 2k mk1) so i'm gonna give it a test over the weekend with 1.06 and see how it goes
this is the final bit in jigsaw for me, bought my djm2k and used that with 2 cdj1000mk3's then bought a cdj2kmk1 so i'm very happily saying goodbye to burning alot of cds :) so happy now, stressfree mixing here we come woop woop
plenty more rekordbox questions coming right at you soon gav lol
as always thanks for the support guys :)
so happy with the pio kit, absolutely love it!
@Zeus > Yes, it does come with an iPhone / iPad connector cable. It is probably more likely that a LAN cable was included rather than a USB cable - as the USB cable isn't all that necessary (in a full Pioneer setup).
Keep the questions coming, we'll be happy to help.
Your back will thank you not having to lug around CD cases any more ;)
