[CLOSED] New firmware (1.13) is out now.
Anyone tried it yet? Ver.1.11 -> Ver.1.13 (17 June, 2013 Update) - Fixed an issue where the browse screen would become slow or stop when the unit is used for several hours. - Fixed an issue where the BACK button does not navigate to the browse screen when editing a playlist in rekordbox while the unit is connected to rekordbox via the Pro DJ Link. - Fixed a rare issue where playback from other media would not start, stop or be selected when a large USB device (e.g. 20,000 tracks) is disconnected. - Fixed an issue where the unit freezes when pressing the HOT CUE (REC/CALL) button for over 1 second during auto hot cue loading.

well I can tell you right off the bat they did not fix the sort bug :( this was big for me
I have a drive with a lot of files on it and sort by colors, when I sort by the master deck the drive is plugged into and then go back to the playlists and select a new playlist, the sort says "COLOR" like i want but it's actually showing listing the tracks as a default sort, not the actual color yet on the linked deck to that usb drive it is all fine, makes no sense and is very annoying because one deck always sorts correct and one doesn't
here is the video I made explaining it all, this has been a bug since the decks were released: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEx_fseV_-8
+1, not sure what the issues are either, i've not found anything that makes them 'not fit for purpose'...
-1, Stupidest update ever.
BriChi - I appreciate that your only gripe was the issue that's been fixed but frankly Pioneer are not doing enough to get these decks where they need to be and to what was advertised on launch as the nexus being an upgrade to the CDJ2000 mk1 with a fully functioning sync facility. Clearly this is so heavily dependent on Rekordbox which only does half a job as the waveform is so poor on the software itself. I've asked for the ability to adjust the grid properly on the deck not having to rely on the substandard software for adjustment which is being ignored / not addressed. Bottom line I wouldn't have bought the decks had I known what they would be like.
I couldn't give a rats arse about ipod / ipad connectivity, I don't chop up tracks using slip mode or use hot cues - not interested, the only positive for me is the improved master tempo but was that really worth £3000 ? I feel particularly cheated and angry because hardware costs so much more than software systems for DJ's and Pioneers ignorance to that fact will really be the end of their dj product line eventually IMO
I agree, the decks are FAR from where they need to be but the issue where the decks were slowing down using usb drives after 3 or so hours of play was a big issue and I am glad it is resolved, Now if they could get them to where they need to be, I, and many others, Would be very happy customers
@Fox, what issues you have?
I've also asked for the ability to adjust the grid properly on the deck.please pioneer could i just even get one request, not to much to ask i think considering the amount of money ive spend on pioneer products over the years also contributing to serveys which i havent yet had any requests granted.
I'm not requesting new features nor am I looking for Pio to tailor a FW update to cater to my personal workflow - I want fundamental functions to work. I've written about my issues in exhaustive detail, but to summarize...sync doesn't sync, slip mode doesn't slip and active loops drift.
The return to song list is still slower using USB vs RB linked, When I press back, The songs should instantly appear, not a blank page for 2 seconds and then the tracks, DJ's want speed, not dumb animation, dump the swipe animation already which will free up room for useful additions or bug fixes. thx!
Sadly the mess this seems to be, it might take some kind of formal action from people for pioneer to wake up.
Clearly unhappy customers complaining about under performing features isn't enough...
Realustically What's the chances of these all being fixed in a mk3 deck rather than a firmware update...
doesnt matter if they fix it all in an MK3 deck, VERY few people will buy the next deck, The Nexus has left a very bad taste in peoples mouths
I totally agree.
No - one from pioneer ever contacted me regarding my issues over 2 faulty decks despite countless emails from the retailer containing my concerns and complaints. When I threatened to pursue the sale of goods act over the poor workmanship of the decks for a refund. I was told pioneer categorically denied it was them and I must have tampered with the Ethernet port or led fuses... (The 1st deck was reported faulty within 5 minutes of opening)
Also the fact that its notoriously hard to actually get a contact in pioneer to help resolve an issue as they use a third party.
I won't buy a MK3 version... these things are new. And they need to get them perfect. And let's get this thing interfacing and talking to RB on the computer Pioneer. figure this out already. this can't be such a hard thing to fix... It should of worked like this from day one. If it works with Traktor in HID mode, let make it happen with these players... You don't want us to use other dj s/w... you want us to use your s/w... so lets make it work better then the rest.
Sorry, I'm just baffled. "Fixed a rare issue where playback from other media would not start, stop or be selected when a large USB device (e.g. 20,000 tracks) is disconnected." WHAT??? How often is this situation coming up? And doesn't the CDJ only 'officially' support USB devices up to 32gbs? If that's the case, why is this even being addressed?! Here's a hint - if a release note starts with "fixed a rare issue" it might be a shade more reasonable to focus on an issue that's more widespread and stifling people's careers, like completely random crashes that occur for no particular reason and make me look stupid. And THANK GOD now the BACK button navigates to the browse screen when editing a playlist in rekordbox while the unit is connected to rekordbox via the Pro DJ Link. If I had to live another day without that...
@Fox, i'm sure what happens (like with programmers I work with) is they fix 1 major issue pretty much per release which in my opinion was the slow down bug which a lot of people did complain about The other issues they fixed where probably very quick ones they they just threw in there to make the users having the issue happy. the "Back button" issue was introduced in the last fw and was probably a 2 second thing to put back to normal. They list it in the release notes because it was reported.
Yes though, More important issues need to be addressed but at least we are seeing some updates. These updates are never going to make everyone happy, they are fixing issues here and there that many people either have, or dont have. For example the decks slowing down after a few hours of play off usb was a huge fix for me but may not be for you and you may have some issues that are fixed in the next release that I can care less about, So again, it is very hard for the engineers to make everyone happy on every FW release unfortunately until they get these decks 100% which is going to take A LOT of work and many minor updates like this one
Fair enough Bri, but the rate at which they're churning out updates is giving me diabetes. And if they insist on keeping this pace, at least prioritize...I can appreciate how frustrating a slow search can be, but more important than addressing the surge in random crashes since FW 1.11? I just don't get it. Future owners of the XDJ get Remotebox, Nexus owners get FW 1.13. Total garbage.
yup, it stinks, they need to push out fixes a lot faster then every 2 months. Unfortunately it seems as if they release an update like 1.13 and now moved on to another project and will revisit this deck in a month or so and start adding fixes
Dear Pioneer, please develop a firmware update whereby the first and only release note reads as follows..."Fixed an epidemic issue universally known to cause the unit to suck miserably and not do all the cool things we said it would that made you buy it in the first place. Love, Pioneer."
LMFAOOOO@FOX... NICE ONE. You guys use your playes in a much more in dept. way then I do. Cause I don't see a lot of the issues you all see. I must be lucky?? I just want my one fix and a RB that is kick ass.
The thing is, there is no progress.
They introduce new bugs themselves which takes ages to fix.
Bugs like switching master or slow browsing for example.
One step forward, two steps back. :-(

Unfortunately this sums the whole sorry situation up, the beta testing ISN'T up to scratch before public release
When is someone going to be held to account for it...?
I doubt they are beta testing the CDJ FW before it goes out, Well beta testing by dj's who hammer away at the decks anyway.
ability to adjust the grid properly on the deck.Should be standard ,the deck should control rb not the other way round
too bad
Rick Jones - bang on the money right there !
Brichi, is this update approve by you? If yes i maybe update my 1.10 (for now) nexuses to 1.13. Is there a point to update? I did have that issue with the slow down after 3hour usage. I think this minor update don't bothers me at all...
WHERE IS THE IMPROVED UI PIONEER??????? Where is the damn NUMBERING at the LEFT OF THE TRACKS INSTEAD THIS STUPID HALF VINYL ICON?????????? where is the speed which we got in the mk1?????????????
i think this decks (IF THEY DO) will work properly in the firmware 2.0 and above... So..... happy 2014 to everyone.
*I didn't have that issue with the slow down after 3hour usage.
I ran them last night with no issues as far as slowing down, other bugs in the UI still exist, The real test will be live this weekend
Thanx Brichi. I wait for your "report" :)
Pioneer forces nexus users to play with laptop with this slow and unusable ui... And thats not the point with this players i think...
No way. I bought them to play normal with usb or cd. Not to use with laptop. Please fix more things soon
