[SOLVED] CDJ-2000 Quantize live-loop not quantized?

Hello,

I did a search for this topic and found this article, but it has since been closed:

http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/23384723--CLOSED-CDJ-2000-Nexus-Quantize

I just want to throw out there that I am still experiencing this problem on the CDJ-2000.  When Quantize is ON, and I tap Loop In, then Loop Out, the expected result is that the loop is quantized (according to the beatgrid).  However, I am finding that the loop is incorrect, with my own human-error'd mis-timing, and not quantized at all.

Using the needle strip to select the loop length, however, works well.  It's just the manual Loop In/Out is not quantized.

Is this by design?  I feel that the CDJ-900's manual loop functionality is tighter (more accurate) than the CDJ-2000's.

Anyone else still running into this problem?  Should this have been fixed in a firmware patch?

Thanks for your input.

Todd

@Todd > Do you have the latest firmware installed on the CDJ? Have you adjusted the beatgrid to make sure it is accurate on the track, within rekordbox?

@Gavin > I'm sorry for this late reply.  I wanted to make sure the firmware version on the CDJ-2000's that this is happening on before replying.  The firmware version is 4.20 on CDJ-2000 Nexus.

Yes, I have run all of my tracks through Rekordbox for correct beatgrids.  They are all tight on the beatgrids.

If this hasn't been resolved yet, or if the manual Loop In/Out as NON-quantised is by design, I highly recommend that Pioneer have the manual Loop functionality maintain relationship with the Quantisation feature.  Meaning, if Quantization is OFF, then manual Loop In/Out's quantisation should follow as non-quantised.  But if Quantisation is ON, then manual Loop In/Out should also follow as quantised.

Thank-you again, Gavin.

@Todd, Just for your own info, If you are on version 4.20, you do not have Nexus decks, they are CDJ-2000's, Not CDJ-2000 Nexus, It's irrelevant to your issue but just thought you should know so people do not think you own the Nexus' when trying to help you out

@BriChi > Thank-you very much for correcting me.  The place that I usually play at is really dark, and I thought that they had Nexus decks.  Thank-you for taking the time to reply and educate me.

@Todd > Are you sure you have Quantize enabled on the CDJ2000? Unlike the Nexus, Quantize doesn't have a dedicated button so you'll need to go into the CDJ settings and enable it.
