[SOLVED] is there any reason to keep "Quantize" on if manually beatmatching?

So I'm pretty confused here.. I have a pair of CDJ-2000 Nexus' and DJM-900 nexus.. I was looking to make the transition from using the SYNC feature to doing it the old-fashioned way (manually beatmatching).. I went ahead and turned off SYNC on both CDJ's, but I still have the "Quantize" feature on.. I'm confused now.. Isn't "Quantize" basically the same thing as using SYNC if you have your beatgrids in place already?

Do I keep QUANTIZE on? Help!

In terms of using auto-loops or manual loops / touch strip / hot cues / hot loops etc then yes, you should definitely keep Quantize on.

If you engage manual loops, it will insure the loops are 'on beat'.

I see now. Is there any difference between which JOG MODE I should be using if trying to beatmatch the "old-fashioned" way?

Well, old fashioned would seem to suggest vinyl in which case you'd change the jog to vinyl mode rather than CDJ.
