What is the make/model of the USB sticks in question? How have you formatted them?
I have 2 usb sticks identical, at 1st everything was working fine but then when i started to export new tunes via rekorbox I'd get some tunes working some just causing the whole system to freeze, nothing works whatsoever and i have to turn the cdj off then back on and these tunes that cause it to crash never work. I tried formatting my usb sticks and re-importing my whole collection + playlists now tunes that weren't freezing up the system are causing the cdj to crash and am unable to play them. Also sometimes the tunes that aren't playing aren't identical to the other usb stick.. Any help would be much appreciated.
My cdj 850k's are only a couple months old as well, plus all the tunes i use are compatible formats..

The USB Sticks are 32gb sandisk cruzer blades. Formatted to Fat32 which i did originally and had no problems then after a while the problems started additional tunes i added started to cause the cdj to crash but not all the tunes i was adding , Then i started to add more tuns plus playlists and i would get the error code on the tunes in the playlists er 806 i think (the 1 saying the tune is not there/been deleted) then when i search thru my tracks the tune is there but makes the cdj crash as well. But it is not only the tunes in some playlists. I did reformat my usb sticks and tried re-importing all my collection and playlists and now the problem is worse and even more random with tunes that werent causing the cdj to freeze up now, at first 100% of my tunes were playing fine then 50% of the new ones i added now after i reformatted an re-imported my collection that number is significantly lower..
I fixed this now by installing rekordbox on my laptop and just importing my collection onto that an then to my usb's so im pretty sure the problems lie with rekordbox on my pc however i know thats no fix an just a temporary 1 but if it happens again i'll probably just reinstall rekorbox on my pc and start all over again however this will become tedious after a while but if you can shed any light on the actual cause of the problem and a more long term fix i'll be happy to hear it.. Thanks
The problem could be the method by which you were adding and removing files from the drive. While you can remove the song through rekordbox or delete the file through the finder / explorer, you'll be leaving behind data from rekordbox for that track. Even if you format the drive, rekordbox keeps information on that USB device -- if it has the same name. If you run into the problem again, double-format the USB drive and give it a new, unique, name and see if the problem persists.
