[CLOSED] Public Beta?

Why can't pioneer team do a public beta test and have it for let's say about a month. This way everybody who own cdj and other pioneer gear to the test it out new feature and any bugs they find wrong. They can fill out a progress note that goes straight to the an engineer team. I think this will work out and bring a good firmware in the future for pioneer gear. But has to be reminded to everyone that this is a public beta test only. Staton dj is doing it right now on there sc4 dj with a firmware they are testing right now. With new features and bug fix. And everyone is testing it out and giving feed back on the pros and cons. IMO I think this could help out pioneer and there customer. Am just throwing my input. I hate to see nice pioneer gear like cdj 2000 nexus and xdj r1 not working the way they should be.

in my opinion, without bashing the engineers too much, the releases now seem like public betas so you're already getting them :)

there are so many missing everyday features, shortcuts and day to day operations that either are not in the software or are buggy as hell once added. We report the faults in the public release and they attempt to fix for the next release, so again, we are already "testing" the "final releases"

Brichi! What are you talking about you never had any problems with your cdj : ) Lol just kidding I saw your video you did. And man you so rough with your cdj. Is like a pimp slapping his girls. Wow! Lol. The other day I went to a dj store in Long Island and there was a guy that bought his cdj nexus there. He was having all types of problem with if it. I already knew it was a firmware issue. Wouldn't it be better if pioneer was to start bring there price down on there cdj. The reason I say that cause it seem like every unit that come out. It never works out right. Is like that saying "You get what you pay for". And for the price you paying for the cdj nexus now,you not getting what you paying for. IMO I think if bring down price and having monthly firmware might help. Might sound dumb what I said! But when people pay top dollars for these player. They except flawless players

I wish they would involve me in the making! lol

I am really not too hard on them, they can take it, i have had cdj's since the 1000mk1 and 800mk1 and they take a beating. It's the FW that can't handle anything

That's the part that bug me out! Why they can't get it together with the firmware. They have great units with nice feature but firmware can't support that well

I kinda group up old school with the rotary mixer and lollipop headphones. All I listen too is soulful and Afro house music. The shhhhh that bother is that I really want to buy pioneer gear again. Because they remind me and also have that old school style that am looking for. Am not a big fan of laptop djing. Not saying it's bad. But I did not grew up like that. I really really hope they can work some good stuff out. And brichi I hope pioneer would considers you as a beta tester. Shit u 99.9% all over this forum. Something got to give here

I would have to vote NO to public beta testing for the following reasons:

  1. if the so called "released" FW is this crappy, you sure you want your decks loaded with a test FW when DJing out with them?

2, When I pay over $2000 for a CD Player, I expect that top dollar includes all the testing they need to do with it,

Having said that, the only way I might agree with a public beta test would be if they shipped out a CDJ to test with, it would only make sense; but overall, PIONEER needs to figure this out on their own.

Just my 2 cents

I agree Walter, I have tested for other companies but it was based on them sending me the equipment to test on, not take the chance with the one I paid for

@Steven V > Pioneer doesn't wish to adversely affect the performance of users CDJs by sending out public betas and it is not in the position to send out free gear, unfortunately. We've encouraged our teams to consider the public process.
