[OPEN] Reloop/Exit functionality options?

I would like the Reloop/Exit function to act exactly as it does in Rekordbox.  Currently, exiting a loop is different on the CDJ-2000 Nexus compared to Rekordbox.  I will describe both methods and results below, in point-form.

Exiting a loop on CDJ-2000 Nexus

1] Set a loop with Quantize On (not sure if this is required, but it is always part of my workflow)

2] At any time during the loop, hit Reloop/Exit button.  The loop will exit exactly at the time you hit the button (not even quantized, even with Quantize On).  During performance, this is not useful, as the DJ's timing may not be exact to the timing of the music.  This is also a problem when in the middle of a mix, as EQ adjustments, FX tweaking, etc. are taking the DJ's focus away from pressing the Reloop/Exit button at precisely the end of the loop.

Exiting a loop on Rekordbox:

1] Set a loop with Quantize On (not sure if this is required, but it is always part of my workflow)

2] At any time, hit the "Reloop" button

3] The loop will keep playing until the end-marker, regardless of when the Reloop button was pressed, then continue on with the track.  No need to think about hitting the Reloop button with precision to exit the loop properly.  Very straightforward and leaves the DJ's focus to be on other performance-aspects of his set.

I would definitely prefer the Rekordbox way of exiting a loop.

Is this an option on the CDJ-2000 Nexus?  If so, where can I expose this option?  If not, can this be included in the next firmware update for CDJ-2000 Nexus and all PRO CDJ hardware?

Many thanks.

Can anyone confirm that their CDJ-2000 Nexus exits loops as described above?  Maybe the latest firmware makes exiting loops different?  I don't own the 2000 Nexus, so the only way I really test is when I hit various clubs when I gig.

Can a 2000 Nexus owner confirm/deny that exiting loops is like that in Rekordbox?

Sorry, I'm not quite sure I understand what the problem is...

When I press the exit button, it doesn't matter WHEN I press it; if the loop is 8 beats long and I press exit in the 2nd beat, it doesn't matter because when the player gets to the 8th beat, it won't loop back.

Can you elaborate?

Thank-you for your response, Pulse.

What you describe is exactly what I am wanting, but in my experience with the CDJ-2000 Nexus, it is not the case.  If I perform what you describe (pressing Exit on the 2nd beat in an 8-beat loop), the CDJ exits on the 2nd beat, not even quantised.  This is with Quantise On.

Has this been fixed in a recent update for the CDJ-2000 Nexus?  I am wondering if the clubs I am playing at need to update their firmware.

If it has always been the case where the function of exiting a loop is as you describe (can exit a loop at any time and the audio will continue past the loop-point perfectly), what is your workflow?

If it helps, I mostly (if not always) use the touch-strip to set my loop lengths.  Sometimes, I even hit the 16-beat loop point, then hit the Cue/Loop next Call button to extend it to 32-beats.  Perhaps this method creates the weird exiting for me?

Sorry, I have to also clarify: when I exit the loop, it seems to "snap" to the end-marker of the loop and continue on.  This is why I have to precisely time my exit at the end of the loop.  It is also why when I do as you describe, Pulse, and exit at the 2nd beat, rather than the 8th beat, the timing is way off, both in musical beats as well as beat-matching.

I hope I'm more clear now...
