[SOLVED] Please help: CDJ 2000 Nexus & CDJ 900 Nexus - Need To Buy

I want to upgrade my cdj 100s console and buy new players.

at first I was thinking to buy the 2000 nexus but they are too expensive for me right now, and reading around seems quite buggy too.

so now I'm thinking to buy a couple of new 900 nexus and save quite a bit of money.

my question is:

if I learn on the 900 nexus and I will get booked in a club that uses cdj 2000 or the cdj 2000 nexus, should I be able to use them properly, cause they are similar, or I'll be totally confused and get panicked?

please forgive my noob question, I still on 100s :)

it's time to upgrade.

Hi John, you will absolutely be able to use them without panic no problems.  To be honest though, the bugs on the CDJ2000NXS have on the whole been sorted and they really are quite stable, maybe I'm just lucky.  The CDJ900NXS will likely have all the same teething problems that the CDJ2000NXS has had and you'll be waiting even longer for them to be stable.

Hi Looshus, thanks for your advice!I would love to buy Cdj 2000 NXS but are too pricey for me right now, I know they are the industry standard for clubs so I need to buy the closer version I can get. Because the price is very different, what's the main disadvantage of using CDJ900NXS against CDJ2000NXS?

To be honest my fear is to get used to CDJ900NXS at home but when playing in a real club with CDJ2000 (nexus or not) to feel not confident at all, I hope I'm just worrying too much because all that equipment are quite expensive.

Anyway thanx a lot for feedback! :)

John, I had the same dilema but found a store in the UK that gave me an ubeatable price on a CDJ/DJM2000 nxs set so it worth shopping around. It did make me wonder if such a bargain meant a new CDJ2000NXS may be on the way

Thanks for infoLouis,

I heard that too, I should search for better price or wait a little until something is official.

if I can get a good discount, even with few OS bugs, that could be fine for me.

here in Italy cdj 2000 Nexus price is about 1800eu and 900nexus is about 1300.

The only relevant difference between the 900 and the 2000 is that the 900 do not have the hot cue buttons, otherwise if you learn on the 900 you can easily play on the 2000,  no problem. They are almost identical.

If your a little worried on price you should consider interest free finance.

[EDIT] offer interest i got my Cdj's (NXS2000) from there couldn't afford £3000 so just financed them at £120 per month for 2 years adding a little to it when i can iv finished paying for them now only what 13/14 months after purchase.

Think about it if your in a steady job and can afford the £120pm

that is just a little over what Sky & Virgin charge for the full movies, sports package. (Shock)

Just to add to what wesley j has put [EDIT]s are the same company and the have the cheapest prices I could find for my set up (2 x CDJ2000NXE + DJM2000nxs) and when I called [EDIT] I got an even better price than was shown on their site. At £4439 I grabbed it and now

I'll back that up, I got the same deal from them in September. I was looking at the djm 900 but the price for the 2000 nxs and djm 2000 nxs let me add the rmx1000 too. I recommend [EDIT] 100%. One of the cdj's they sent had a tighter jog than the other with jog adjust at 12 o'clock and they swapped it out no questions for one with the the same manufacture date to make a perfect pair. Good guys :)

That's a state side Dj deals, the uk one is djdeals.co.uk, same price as finance direct.

Just to add John if you do get the finance i strongly recommend you get the units insured too.

Check at Djguard for cheap monthly quotes £15pm for £5000 worth of cover includes accidental, Theft, Fire and covers you away for gigs too

wow, this forum has changed!

price talk was normally axed within hours.  This is probably not a good sign for getting technical support here.

@JAMBOE

I can't see any connection.

this is a forum, pioneer products have a price and technical issues too.

can't get your point, sorry.

The point is, discussing price has always led to posts being removed and topics being closed and it happened immediately.

That this thread is still running from the 30th (when prices and specific vendors were brought up) just shows that nobody is around here from Pioneer.  Which means finding support for technical issues will be difficult.

Naming specific vendors is a strict no-no. I'm happy for everyone to discuss everything else that must be made in relation to purchasing the equipment rather than me butting in with what could be considered a biased opinion.

Any specific questions, I am happy to address.

@Gavin

now I see :) thanks.

may I ask you a question?

is "Prioneer spring cashback promotion" valid if I buy a pair of CDJ900NXS using my VAT Number (Italy)?

@John > No, you have to purchase the item within the UK to avail of that offer as it is a Pioneer GB only offer.

@Gavin @Dj-US.Gov

thanks for replyes, here in Italy "Prioneer spring cashback promotion" is valid, I'm sure.

My concern was TAX related, buying like a private customer or as small company using VAT (...and so asking for a VAT refunds on TAX declaration) it is probably a different thing.

anyway I like "Prioneer spring cashback promotion" looks quite good! :)

@John > If you are a private company you wouldn't pay VAT on the purchase of this item anyway (well, you would initially but you'd recover it in your VAT return). If you get money back it reduces the value of your asset and the amount of VAT you can reclaim. Your accountant should be able to help you with all this.
