Which is better? The sx or the R1?

I purchased the DDJ-SX at launch...sold it after a month... the performance pads were nice, but other than that not much else I can say good about it. From the looks of things this XDJ- R1 looks promising, I like the USB support and CD decks...for the rare times someone hands you a CD and ask you to play a song. Supports Virtual DJ out the box (I'm a Traktor man but willing to switch for video capability) all the wireless IPhone crap is useless to me since I absolutely hate Apple and will never  buy one of their products...just my personal preference...hehe. Oh not really liking the fact it's only 2 channels... but we'll see how that works out... as of right now I'm interested in buying it, unless some ugly wart or something pops up before launch day.

Both are very different units. You'll probably need to wait another few weeks when the R1 goes on sale before you make a fully informed decision.

I think the ability to do so much with the R1 is awesome, but it doesn't sound like a good fit for you @Gregg.  With Midi though, I suppose you could map out Traktor..

Hello, Am interesting to buy a new DDJ-SX Pioneer, since i heard a lot of problem with the microphone and also i used to perform a lot of animations over mic, i would like to know if the problem is fixed already on the new batch as it seem to be a hardware issue .

Thanks

I would like to know also if i can add effects on the mic when i talk live.. if not , then this ddj-sx will be a useless device since its imporant for most djs for creativity in any gigs.. i wish they can add this features in the software.. else it will be a probs to buy this console. Also it would be better to know if they have already fixed the microphone distortion issue from production. I cant use an specific mic just to please their product hardware faulty. u should fix the hardware issue and without any other hardware probs. am getting struggling to buy this ddj-sx since i have many negative complaint against the mic distorted and cant add effects to voice..! Hope their will be a change for the new batch of ddj - sx.

Thanks

Hi Guys just to let you know we have just completed the first 2 cases for the XDJ-R. We may have a slight design change swapping the 2 doors for a single full width version but they will take us a few days to get here as we have only managed to get our hands on a unit for the first time today. I would appreciate you comments please

@Uzzy > The microphone issue only occurred with poor quality microphones. As long as you have a god mic you shouldn't notice any issues.

I'm not sure how you consider the inability to add effects to the microphone a completely useless device but if you wanted such functionality added you'll need to contact the software provider - in this case, Serato.
