If it's like the xdj aero. Yeah u can use one USB port (the rec side). U can play and record your mix. It's going to create a folder on your hard drive where u can find your recording mix u made.

USB Playback on XDJ-RX
Hi,
Like the XDJ-R1, will I be able to use my external hard drive from just on USB port to feed both decks with tracks, while I utilize the right hand side USB slot to record my set? Or must I use multiple USB devices to playback?

As @Steven notes, you can share data from one USB port. The two ports allows you to use one for playback, one for recording, or to simply connect two different source drives. It also facilitates switching of DJs when used in an installation environment.
