Are you comparing your headphones connected to the computer vs. your headphones connected to the R1, or the headphones connected to the computer vs. the master output of the R1?

[SOLVED] Sound Quality on XDJ R1
HI All,
I have been using my XDJ R1 with no problems, however I pluuged my headphones directly into my laptop yesterday with Rekordbox to sort some stuff out, and I noticed the sound qualities direct from Rekordbox were much clearer than my R1. High ends were crisper, not as distorted at high volume etc.
Is this because of the soundcard within the R1 not being of the highest level (when compared to the high end DJM mixers etc), or have I maybe got some setting wrong when I export to USB?

This is just through the headphones. So headphones into the laptop audio port, compared to the headphone port on the R1

Ah, in that case I will tell you it's likely a matter of the D/A chipset used for the headphone output not being the same quality as that of your laptop. This is understandable as the priority for D/A quality is on the master output.
