Connecting XDJ-RX to One Studio Monitor

Hi All,

I really need your guys help with something - I bought an XDJ-RX and so far it's been fantaaaastic in every way, especially coming form a traktor s4 it's fantastic to not look at my laptop anymore.

I also bought the Pioneer SDJ80x Dj speaker (only could afford one at the moment).

I'm now using an RCA twin cable from the master output on the XDJ to the unbalanced RCA on the speaker.

My questions are:

  1. There is a twin RCA out but only a single (Black color) input on the speaker... is this normal? I can hear the sound clearly but I feel it's not perfect...

  1. I know there is an XLR out on the mixer (Right and Left) but will the sound be OK if I connect JUST the XLR left or right out to the input on the speaker?

  1. What is the BEST way to connect the mixer to ONE monitor only since that's all I have...

Thank you!

Amrit

If you are using a cable which goes from stereo to mono, you may be inadvertently muting the audio due to wave-summing / wave-cancellation. Just run one single cable from the RX to your speaker.

One single cable from the XLR output on the RX to the speaker?

Yes, just one cable from one output (say the L side) to that one speaker.
