XDJ Aero won't turn on, standby light flashing red and green

My Aero is having an issue where it won't turn on. The standby/on light flashes when I attempt to start the system, and I haven't been able to find out what it means or what I can do about it.

I'm in the UAE, using an American unit paired with a step down adapter that should be lowering the voltage. I'm concerned that the adapter may have failed briefly and overloaded the system. However there are no signs of damage aside from the flashing light. This also isn't realistic since the adapter is fuse loaded and the fuse is supposed to burn out before damaging anything.

Before I spend money that I can't afford on taking this thing to a repair shop, what can I do?

@Alan > The power adapter should have a voltage rating on it - almost all of them are universal voltage supporting 100-240V without the need for a transformer. Check yours to see if this is the case. If it is, you can try connecting it directly to the mains and see if the fault is the transformer. If that still doesn't work, it could be the power adapter is faulty. Try replacing it with an adapter of identical voltage and equal or greater amperage (and don't forget to make sure the polarity of the DC plug is correct).

If all else fails, you'll have to contact Pioneer technical support in the UAE for support - it will be out of warranty as your product's warranty is only valid in the USA (for up to 1 year from date of purchase).

Thanks for your response!

I attempted to plug it directly into the wall, and the system did work. However when touching the center part (the mixer) I was feeling electricity pulsing through the system into my fingers, and decided to unplug it right away. This has me believing that there is some sort of grounding issue in the mix.

The power adapter I have here for the system reads
"I/P: AC 100V 50/60Hz 57vA
O/P: DC 12V 2A"

When I plugged it into the wall socket, it was through a 3 pin adapter with outlets on the top, bottom, and side. Should I simply convert the 2 pin plug I have now into a 3 pin with a cord mounted adapter?
