4.0.1 Spacebar Snap To Cue/Grid [Auto Play when triggering hot cues]

Not sure if I'm describing it properly but I noticed that when I use the space bar to pause/play... it doesn't snap to the cue points set. It keeps playing...not sure how to describe it. when I trigger a, B , c hot cues it auto plays. Makes it harder to set cue points quickly because I have to keep stopping the player. I usually follow up with setting memory cues right after but this definitely has slowed down my work flow. Anyone know hot to stop this from auto playing or is it a newer feature of 4.0? Really would like to disable this.

@Dominic > The hot cue behaviour is mimicking that of the CDJ; when you press it, the player continues to play. Many users have asked for the alternate method, where the function follows the action of the player -- if the deck is playing, the cue will play, but if the deck is paused, the cue will remain paused unless the button is held. We hope to see this included in a future update of the software.

Ah, I concluded this sequence happening. I guess for exporting/export mode I will temporarily resort to 3.0 for workflow purposes. But hopefully there will be some more options in the future. Thank you for the quick reply. I use both platforms but not as "equally" as I would like but it's mainly due to the amount of time/years spent accumulating & organizing for serato. Just that alone takes hours & hours. It's been tough trying to keep up with both platforms. I also am testing for the 3rd platform (Rekordbox DJ). Great to have many options & be prepared for every situation possible. Cheers to frequent future updates.

@Dominic Lookup CUP (Cue and Play) mode. That's what it's doing.

@pulse I'm still trying to understand this whole method/reasoning with the latest update (4.0.2) in comparison to rekordbox 3. When I set hot cues I for a song with a 30 second intro (house music) I set home cue a, b, c. (128 bpm song is typically 0:00, 0:15, 0:30) Shortcut for hot cue a is the number 1 (I wanted to make it similar to serato for memorization / workflow purposes). I set hot cue a, b , c and then immediately after setting those hot cues I press c for memory cue setting and then I press m to set first memory cue and follow the same steps after to set cues .

So basically I'll press 1 to set hot cue a, then set memory cue at same position of hot cue a) then do the same following the other 2 cues. But now that it starts playing I have to stop the player to try and find the exact position in order to set the other cues. maybe I'm explaining it wrong but essentially in rekordbox 3 it keeps the cue at the beginning of the set marker/cue point. so it's easier to just to c,m (memory cue setting) right after without the song starting to immediately play. Not sure why this changed or why there's not a setting to go back to the old way. To be honest I'm confused as heck but I'm using the last version of rekordbox 3 for exporting because of it.

This option has been added in 4.0.2.
After updating rekordbox, open setting preferences -> [Controller] -> [Deck] -> tick [Hot Cue] option.

Known issue:
1. This function does not work when the deck is sync as a slave, in other words, when another deck is the [SYNC MASTER].
2. This function does not work when you use [Set Hot Cue A-H] keyboard shortcuts.

These issue will be addressed in a near future update.
Thank you for your patience.

Aso: Is this when a device is connected? I'm looking for the preferences that show Controller -> Deck -> tick hot cue ... I'm on 4.0.2 and do not see this option anywhere? Is this in Export mode or performance mode?

Just found the option in "Performance Mode" ...I usually set all my hot & memory cues in export mode. Going to do some further testing. We are getting closer. Keyboard shortcuts are definitely a big part of speed and functionality. Thank you for bringing us closer and listening to the users :)

Sorry, I misunderstood.
This option is only for PERFORMANCE mode.
So there is no option in EXPORT mode to change HOT CUE behavior.

I'll ask engineers to add what you want.
Thank you for your patience.

Aso: Thank you...Yeah I was just comparing to rekordbox 3 which is what I'm currently using to export just due to how fast I can set cues and everything. As I said..having to constantly stop the player and track to exact track position etc slows me down. I didn't know this functionality had an actual name "Gate" ...pretty cool sounding ..haha. Also while we are here...any chance that we will eventually get all cues, loops and meta data to save to the actual mp3 files themselves? One of the big benefits of serato is this particular function. All loops and cue points are saved within the files as metadata. So it's not so devastating when you lose databases etc. The countless hours of cue point setting don't go in vein. Once I lose a database ...or switch computers etc..all of my hard work is gone.

Oh, pass each other posts.
Anyway, you can not change the behavior in EXPORT mode, so I'll ask engineers to add it.
Thank you.
