[Solved] Rekordbox Explorer

Same problem here my friend! And to a lot of other users as I disguss the problem with them. hope they will fix this in the near future and add a search bar everywhere and not only in playlists and collection section! Also they have to fix the rekordbox to see all external drives and partitions!

Also, I managed to get the folders from this disk to rekordbox by importing the different folders as different playlists. But when I add a new song to the hard disk folder, do I have to manually add it to rekordbox? Traktor explorer was a LOT simpler: just navigate to the folder, drag it to the player and play!

Yes it is the stupid way of serato...! Double the job for nothing! Basically it is good for creating nice permanently playlists but it definately needs full explorer support!

Mainly because itunes recognizes new file paths when we move.

@Neils > You can't use only the file explorer as rekordbox would not have the files indexed in its database, nor would it have the metadata or waveform.

I also can't see my 2nd hdd in the explorer.

@Arthur > All compatible drives should be visible within the explorer. If you are in PERFORMANCE mode, they may not appear on the left right away - try switching to EXPORT mode and back.

Please note that drives or partitions formatted in NTFS or exFAT are not supported and will not show, nor will secondary partitions.

I tried switching to export mode, but no such luck.
I have a second hdd in the dvd bay, it's in the correct format.
Even digging deep into the tree doesn't show it.

What's the partition format? What is the drive letter (or are you on Mac)?

Im using a mac, so it's Mac OS Extended Journaled.

Launch Terminal in the Utilities below the Applications on Mac.
Type "diskutil list" in the field.
Copy the result shown there and paste it in a reply.

@Arthur, I have the exact same problem. Mac OS Extended Journaled as a second hdd in my dvd bay. Now I imported all music (folders as playlists, it analyzed for 3 days) but when I add a song to my folder on the HDD I have to add it manually to the playlists, stupid way of working...

I'd like to give this a little bump please...

So I have 2 Hard drives on my macbook, one is SSD for OSX, one is divided into 2 partitions, one for windows, and one for my DATA, i.e., music.

Are you saying that still, this software cannot see a second partition? I cannot more the database to that HDD / Partition, as its greyed out, I assume as it will not see the drive?

Id like to point Rekordbox to that partition, and have it monitor my music folder, I can't store my music on my SSD as its simply too small to hold it all.

Surely there is a solution to this by now, or at least a work around?

I would like to know how to fix this as well. I have been pulling my hair out for weeks!

There is no ability to load additional partitions.

This is not strictly true, I did write a guide on a workaround allowing you to view your media on another drive / partition.. I'm amazed it was never made sticky considering pioneer haven't found a solution to the issue yet.

Its a legitimate fix, certainly no "dirty hack" that would cause any unwanted issues and is fully reversible.

Anyway, I've sold my pioneer now, so not an issue for me any longer.
