Improved Search Functionality?

As for global search, you can use [Search in the collection] keyboard shortcut.
Default is ctrl+F on Mac and Alt+F on Windows.

You can customize the mapping [Preferences] > [Keyboard] > [General]

Ok, thanks for the tip! I tried it and works fine but i would still suggest that when clearing the search box it reverts back to the last screen. Right now, if i search a track it stays in collections and doesn't revert back to the previous screen.

In Traktor when you do a search and press ENTER the search is done in the whole collection. I would love this feature in Rekordbox as it's much faster than Ctrl+F

@Jose > The search is currently done within the scope selected on the tree (on the left). If you're in a playlist, it searches that playlist. If you choose the collection, it searches the whole collection. This is a beneficial search method, but I prefer the Serato method -- the first time you press the search shortcut, it searches the playlist only - but if you press it twice, it will search the whole collection. 

I would like to see Search work like Traktor by pressing enter is will search the collections after searching a playlist. 

With RBDJ if you do a search in a playlist and the song is not there you than have to Press Control F then retype the same search.    

With traktor you just press enter much faster and more efficient.   I am thinking this cant be to hard to do.  

Hopefully this will be taking up for consideration. 

reviving this feature request to have search work like traktor where if your in a playlist and search and your search comes up empty ..you just press enter and the same search comes up in collection. 

Right now with RBDJ you woudl have to go to collections and re type your search . this is much slower method that traktors functionality and one of the few things i miss about traktor
