This works to do the a hardware reset on the AERO but it doesn't default the firmware back to 1.2. I want to firmware downgraded back to 1.2 as it worked fine till i upgraded the firmware to 3.0 and then the MIDI didn't work anymore.

Downgrading firmware is not officially supported.
@Daniel > Is there a reason you need to downgrade? What's not working?
Yes because I fail to see how a USB midi port can break at exactly the same time as I made the upgrade to firmware version 3.0 from 1.2. All within the short space of time. it was working then it wasn't, I still feel that on my controller it has disabled the USB midi port, as there is a signal going to the laptop as when its plugged into the laptop it locks it up and as soon as you take out the USB cable it frees up immeidately.
if you can rollback the DDJ WeGo firmware which I did when it went wrong then you should be able to rollback the firmware on the XDJ aero
@Daniel > Which operating system are you running on your computer?
MAC OSX 10.9.5
The unit connected via the USB midi just fine before i updated the firmware from 1.2 to 3.0
@Daniel > Can you please open your Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Devices application and open the MIDI window, you may need to scroll around, but find the XDJ-AERO and remove that device. Next, click the Rescan button and it should re-appear.
Next try your application and see if the MIDI functions work as expected.
