BUG: Sync + Quantize doesn't always round to the nearest beat

Pulse,
Another small suggestion to pass on to the developers..

When using SYNC and quantize when mashing with hotcutes, if the button is pushed mere milliseconds after a downbeat, instead of rounding down and quantizing with the downbeat, it moves the hotcue to the next downbeat, even if it's just a 1/16 away from the previous beat, meaning it has to move it 15/16th of a beat forward. This behavior doesn't exist when using CUE, but there seems to a smaller delay with the hotcues.

I don't notice this when using it in software mode (no controller) but notice this with my DDJ-RZ.

Serato and Traktor both seem to quantize to the nearest beat, whereas Rekordbox seems to go to the NEXT beat even if the previous beat is just a hair's width away.

Also, please see my last post regarding the 4 bugs that have popped up in RB 4.0.3.

thanks

DJ Chase

+1 huge problem... I have to use CUE all the time OR play it, leave it in sync and release the jog wheel at the right moment.

Hey Pulse

Sorry to dig up my old post from last year, but this still isn't fixed.  It seems to work when hitting a cue point from a stopped deck (rounds up OR down) but if the track is playing and you're trying to use hot cues to do live 'remixes', it almost always fails if you don't hit it early.  But hit it too early, and you're a beat ahead. Trainwrecked a lot of times with this.  :(

Using 4.2.1 with the DDJ-RZ.

@Harry > We're aware and still have this flagged as "urgent" with the software team. Hopefully it will get addressed in a timely fashion. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@Harry - This bug is literally killing any creativity with hotcues.  Train wrecks constantly because your timing needs to be impeccable.  No clue why this isn't the first thing that needs to be fixed vs all these new features.  I not sure if it's lost on people over there understand that *constantly* having to press sync while DJing to "quantize" properly is a severe pain in the a$$.  If I didnt have CDJs/XDJs that I use with USBs, I'd abandon this all together and make the switch back to Serato that doesn't have ANY of these problems.

On another note, there's some sync drift that I'm observing that is also driving me INSANE.  Even with the SYNC button lit and solid it is not syncing properly unless you stop and restart the track.    I've been using rekordbox for 4-5hrs every week at the club since it's been released so its really at the point where it's getting on my nerves....  sorry *rant off*.
