VDJ or Serato with DDJ-SX2? I used to spin 30 years ago on Technics 1200's so I'm fairly new to the Controller/Software world. I'm buying the DDJ-XS2 and was wondering which software is better at analyzing files and accurately setting the beat markers? I've been using for a couple of months now a Numark NS7 with Serato DJ 1.8 .0 thinking the motorized platters would feel more like the 1200's but NO WAY, NOT EVEN CLOSE. I've noticed the platter you drop in is always slow in keeping up the longer you stay in the mix, usually over 64 beats. I also noticed they're consistently .02 off preventing you from taking your hand off the tempo/pitch fader. Even the times I've used the SYNC feature it'll eventually come off slightly. Not noticeable to the layman but to a trained ear it is. I'm also having to constantly edit roughly 90% the beat grids in Serato even though the tracks are mostly Deep House, Future House and some EDM which should be easy to grid. So my question is, can I expect one software to analyze the files better than the other with the SX2? Or would they both be equally as accurate with the SX2 since the source of the problem may be the NS7's motorized platters. Regardless, the DDJ-SX2 is in route as we speak. Thanks for your response.

The marriage of the SX2 to Serato is very tight - I prefer it as everything just works as expected. Many DJs use it with VDJ because of a feature or function within that software, but for me, I prefer the clean and simple operation of Serato.

I have tried Serato a little with bad experience when it comes to the beat matching/sync. VDJ has worked much better. But I would recommend you to at least test rekordbox dj. The beat grids handling and sync looks very promising I think.

Pulse, what are your thoughts about Serato VS Rekordbox DJ? I was a Serato guy, but I'm really digging RB DJ.
