Skipping audio thru OSX

I am having the same issues. 

I upgraded to 16gb of Ram and I have more then enough room as far as my hard drive. I am running Capitan as my OS 

I played with the buffering in the advanced setting of my program but still no improvement. 

I am really having issues now. I swear its getting worse. It works fine when the DDJ-RZ is not connected but the moment I connect it the CPU Usage is through the roof. That's when my audio begins to skip when I scroll to search

The amount of RAM doesn't dictate whether or not the audio plays smoothly. If you have a lot of other background applications running and there is no available CPU or the graphics card is taxed with some other task, then it will not perform as expected.

First, try removing or terminating background tasks, increase the audio buffer (latency) to a higher value and try again.

If you're still having problems, post some information about your system (incl. system specs and your rekordbox settings), as well as screen shots of your Activity Monitor.

I have no background applications running. I also have my WiFI off and my HDD is not encrypting.

I have a 2011 Mac running Capitan, dual core, 16 GB Ram, 750GB HDD,

I also have the buffer and latency all the way to the right. But then my scratching begins to get affected. But, even if I leave it that way my audio still skips when I am scrolling through my music.

My music is on a 4TB HDD MyBook for Mac's connected by 800MB Firewire. I do not have USB 3.0. My two USB's are 2.0 since its an early 2011 laptop. Firewire is the fastest I can go without going thunderbolt.

As mentioned earlier when running Rekordbox on performance mode without the DDJ-RZ connected it runs fine. But the moment I connect the player my CPU goes into crazy mode. My fans speed up and CPU usage increases. I will sent a snap shot when I get home plus a video if I can.
