My Mac overheats

I really like all the features of Rekordbox dj the only problem is that my Mac gets too hot while I am using the program (from 85 ° to 90 ° Celsius) in normal mode...... and when it is analyzing songs reaches (99º Celsius)..There is any way to fix this?

During playback, it may get hot if your graphics card is trying hard to keep up with the visuals. Try going into Preferences > View and change the Waveform Drawing Rate to the lowest setting.

When you are analysing tracks, this is normal, especially in performance mode where the software will use all available CPU cores. If you want to cool it down, go into Preferences > Analysis and at the bottom, change the Analysis Process mode from Performance to Normal.

mine too, I have a Macbook pro early 2011 and rekordbox forces it to use the discrete graphics card which I think it's responsable for the overheating

Discrete graphics can play a big role with heat, especially on those 2008-2012? models. Fans will kick off when discrete graphics is used. Consider using gfxCardStatus to monitor whether discrete or integrated is being used in RBDJ. In fact, try to force integrated if you see any difference.

After the latest osx upgrades we can't force the system to use the integrated gfx card instead of discrete one. It's on pioneer staff to decide how the system react when they call opengl routines....

I believe gfxCardStatus 2.1 is the latest that will still allow to force integrated. OpenGL ftl..

I've done everything but still the same. Even the CPU usage is high 95% to 115%

Try using RBDJ in a different login profile and see if you get the same result. If not, it's the profile you're log onto that's causing something.

GFXCARDSTATUS statement!
ii. integrated only mode limitations.

gfxCardStatus v2.3 and above actively prevents you from switching to Integrated Only mode when any apps are in the Dependencies list (or if you have an external display plugged in). This is because if you were to do this, your discrete GPU would actually stay powered on, even though you've switched to the integrated GPU.

If you don't believe a particular app should be causing the more power-hungry graphics to turn on, I encourage you to contact the author of the app directly instead of switching to Integrated Only as a workaround. Tell the author that their app is affecting your battery life, and ask them (calmly) to fix it. If any app authors don't know what the problem is or how to fix it, point them to this article on the Apple Developer site:

Easy (Temporary) fix would be to use SMC Fan control. This is a standard part of your arsenal over at Serato.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I've alerted the engineers to the Apple article and hopefully we'll see a fix for those of you with the affected models.

Would you install the software to check whether this problem is improved?
https://gfx.io/

This software switches the graphic processing from GPU to chipset.

I know this thread is old, but I have a late model 2016 MBP and I'm getting these heating issues as well. My MBP was very hot after only 10 minutes of me opening RBDJ and it's not connected to any controller. All I'm doing is putting a playlist together. I've tried going into Preferences > View and change the Waveform Drawing Rate to the lowest setting but when I do that, the waveform is so jumpy it messes with my eyes. I am running the latest version of RBDJ 5.2.2 but this problem has been going since the 5.0 version.

I will note that I have a 2014 Asus ROG PC with similar specs that doesn't have this problem.

Would a cooling pad help me with the MBP or am I just doomed to suffering with this issue?

No not analyzing anything. All I was doing was missing music and scrolling through the playlist
