let me clarify, when I plug the second deck in a get a pause in the music. Basically it's completely useless in a professional setting.

Followhow to use DJ in a pro setting?
So what's the proper way to start your set? What I've tried is to imagine the DJ before me is on his last cd so I turn on my computer and plug the left usb into the left deck, assign to deck 1 and mix into his song. Great so far, once he's done I should be able to just plug the right usb into the right deck but I get a very noticeable lag/bump/sound fart on the song I'm playing when I plug in. I'm using an air-mac but it shouldn't matter right?

OK this seems to be a major flaw or bug with the dj software.
Using a macbook air which is up to date with cdj 350s (curious if it happens with other cdjs)
You can not switch a connected CDJ to control mode with the software playing a track on the other deck without the sound dropping out for a second.
So basically to way to plug in at a club unless they have 3 or 4 decks, and lets face it, most clubs have 2.
And it's not like you can plug in ahead of time and let the other DJ play with cds because the same drop in sound comes when you switch over.
Please tell me this is a bug to be fixed because if this is the way it works it's useless accept for practice.
i have tested switching in and out of modes with CDJ-2000 Nexus' with no audio issues, all sound running through my DJM-900 via USB
Running performance mode?
yes, as a test for myself i shut off a 2000 in the middle of playing to make sure Rekordbox dj would keep playing and then turned it on and reconnected and continued as normal
Thanks for the answer. So it's either the 350s or my laptop them I guess which is good to know. Only a few clubs here in Tokyo have 2000s though, hope it's fixed for all the gear, especially 850s which is the most common
exactly, just because the 2000's are fine doesn't mean this should be overlooked.
Maybe record a video and upload if you can so the engineers can see whats going on too
