Will it be possible? (...on actual models ;P)

thanks for the reply Pulse. That is great news!
But the coloured wave forms are then only going to be for RB4 and HID mode, right? Not when you play using a flashdrive?

I already thought you gave some hint while saying "at this time" @Pulse ;-)
And when I read the rbDJ roadmap this morning I thought I was right. Nice to hear about that and I would follow @Armand's question: HID only?

@Armand: I just "discovered" something interesting. When looking at "Devices -> flash drive -> All Tracks" the preview in this list still shows the blue waveforms.
So I think, rekordbox somehow exports the waveform together with the track on the flash drive and CDJs/XDJs just read and "play" the waveform along the track. If rekordbox would export the colored waveform to the flash drive, our CDJs/XDJs should be able to read and play them along the tracks without any firmware upgrade. My consideration...

ooooooooooooo very nice! Would be great if it also works with exported tracks on usb but maybe Pioneer will keep it to the software to tempt us all into buying Rekordbox DJ? Full colour wav forms on the CDJ 2000 nexus would look very nice though :o).

@Kithaeron; Sounds like it could be possible but I have no idea how the waveforms work and how CDJ's read/display them along with the actual music file that is playing works. Hopefully it can be done

Don't mind on color waveforms on RB, but totally not needed in CDJ. Only useless distraction.

@Sigius. Then they could add an option to display wave forms as mono colour if it is preferred by the dj
