DJM900 NXS won't connect to my iMac
I downloaded the new version of rekordbox 4.0 last night and upon doing so I connected my djm900 to my Mac by usb but the setting utility didn't open automatically as usual. I deleted the setting utility and redownloaded it through rekordbox 4.0. Still nothing. I tried different usb cables and it still won't connect. I've updated the firmware on the djm900 as well just to eliminate the possibility of it being the mixer. I'm starting to think my mixers usb could be faulty as the only thing that has changed recently is that it was unplugged from my Mac over the weekend for a party. The light doesn't come on at all on the mixer where the usb plugs in and the setting utility says not connected. I've also tried using my Macbook with the setting utility and it won't connect. I'm running Yosemite and haven't had any problems before now. Any advice on what else I could try?

Sorry, I just noticed the yosemite part. What exactly are you trying to "connect?" For example, are you trying to use the DJM-900 as the active sound card/audio interface for RB4? Are you connecting directly to the Mac or a hub? Tried different USB cables? Are they shielded?

I use the djm900 as a soundcard with ableton. I also record mixes through the mixer with audacity. Used 4 different usb cables, shielded. I've taken it to an authorised pioneer repairer and as I thought the usb slot is faulty and needs replacing.

Do you possibly have both the ethernet and USB cables connected simultaneously?

No I tried that too, didn't work. Both plugged in or just the USB made no difference. The authorised pioneer repairer retested it in every way that I did prior to taking it off me to replace the USB slot. The fault is found so just needs repairing.
