Why Auto play??

Hello, When you load a track, auto plays (with auto-play off in preferences), Why?

This happens when one track ends playing and you load another one on the same deck then it plays automatically, this is very annoying as sometimes you have the fader up and it's a fail.

Also, when you press AUTO LOOP it plays automatically! it wouldn't if the track is paused.

Please Pioneer fix this basic and important bugs. Thank you.

If the deck was playing when you loaded a track, the new track will also be playing. If you stop the deck, the new track will be stopped. This is not a bug.

We've asked engineers to include an "auto cue" mode for the controllers that don't have one and hopefully it will be in a future update.

@Pulse thank you very much for your reply. I understand is not a bug but it will be very useful if you had the option to change this (in preferences for example). I have always worked this way: when I load a track the track has to be stopped, I'm very used to that and a think a lot of dj's as well. I always let the track to finish playing without stopping it and to me it doesn't make sense when you load a track starts playing automatically, what for? If you left the volume fader up.. fail..

A lot of DJs just want to "have a track start," but for those who don't, the auto cue mode will help avoid frustration.

As Pioneer says, this is not a bug. However, if that's the case, it seems to be a pretty crappy way to implement things. I have had several traveling DJ's through my venue in Asia and all of them have complained about this when using RekordBox on my computer.

I will show you why this actually IS a bug (or at least a related bug)!

If you let a track in the deck play through to the end of the track, this is where the problems/confusion begins. The waveform stops moving, and I assume that the deck is now STOPPED. But it isn't. RekordBox still considers this deck in PLAY mode, which I believe is the wrong thing to do.

This is where the confusion occurs. To any normal human, if the waveform is not moving, the deck appears to be STOPPED. If you now load a track into that deck, it will play automatically, because technically the deck is still in PLAY mode. This will really mess things up if your levels are not zeroed.

And this is where the 'bug' occurs if you have checked the box that will not let you load a track into a deck that is not stopped. RekordBox will still allow you to do this when a track is at the end of the deck, yet the deck is still in PLAY mode. So, please make up your mind. Is the deck stopped, playing, or somewhere in between (which is where it is now)???

It would make MUCH more sense to put the deck into the "stopped" state once the end of track was reached. This would solve the confusion, the bug, and both problems simultaneously.

We have a new and big update 4.0.6, I love the Midi-Learn feature but we still don't have the AUTO CUE option, I don't think is that difficult and as Rob says I think its essential and very important.

When will we see this option on Rekordbox DJ?

Hopefully in the next update, but I can't say for sure. The MIDI functionality was being worked on before the request for auto-cue, that much I know. We'll see plenty more bugs squashed and features improved in releases coming soon.
