Hello,
Why is the search bar missing in my playlists, explorer and sampler?
I have it it collection, but only over there.
How can I fix that?

In order to search reliably, it would have to index your entire hard drive(s), and I don't know if you have Spotlight Search or Windows Search Indexer enabled, but I can tell you that those are pretty CPU/memory intensive and run in the background ... for the operating system to find files, not applications. If you have imported them to your collection, you can search them - you don't need to search your drive for content already imported.

It should be on the playlists and sampler but not Explorer. Can you post a couple of screenshots?

rekordbox does not provide a hard-drive search function, sorry.

Yes but it should provide a Hard Drive search if you have imported your songs to your collection. Many people mentioned this problem before.

I can't understand why is it missing. It would be a great future that we are looking forward to!

I also do not understand why can not there is that option. I would like to buy the program to use with my DDJ SZ, but the option of the search bar directly in my music folder is very much needed for my work. :-(

@Daniel > All your music should already be added to your library and anaylsed within rekordbox. Once it's part of the collection you can search it.

@pulse I totaly disagree with you in this point. a search box should be everywhere and not only in main collection and playlists. The other guys wouldn't mention this issue withoun a problem occurs at their wirk. it difficults me too very muc sometimes. the other three programs especially VDJ have a very nice search box EVERYWHERE! try and make a similar please because many users have mention it same as I in the past. thank you in advance.

And again, as a DJ myself, I import ALL of my music into my collection within my DJ software so it's analysed and ready to load (regardless of which software I'm using), so please enlighten me...

Why is that content not already part of your collection?

The problem my friend is that you may play 2 or 3 genres of music. they are many types of djs that play lots and lots of genres of music and they have many many many folders to make them playlists and update them every time. it would be no problem for us if we play only house for example. sometimes we want to search inside a specified folder only. with rekordbox we just can't.

So what I'm reading is "I don't fully make use of the functions within rekordbox to browse, sort, and filter my music." I play a variety of music as well and yet I'm able to manage my music.

I'm asking this to better understand how different DJs work so I can approach the rekordbox team with the appropriate information...

Why not have that folder and simply drag it into a playlist ... then search within that playlist? I know it would be ideal to simply have an intelligent playlist which automatically added files as they were included in a folder, but that's not something the software does (nor do I feel it should - as you may get to the gig and all of a sudden it's importing and analysing a whole ton of new music, possibly interrupting the playback).
