Database & music files management in RB 3.2.2

Hi,

I have RB 3.2.2 installed in 2 different computers (Mac & PC), and I´m trying to store my music files and the rekordbox database in a usb stick (scandisk ultra fit 3.0 - 64GB) to keep my computers sincronized.

so, in the 1st computer (MAC), I went to: preferences, advanced, database management. Then , I´d select the path of the usb stick and clicked on "move database". So far so good but that process only moves the database, but not the music files...

Do I have to move them manually? (I have 1 folder with some subfolders within)

If I use the device manager to export the music files to the same usb sitck where the database is, it generates a "contents" folder with "artists" and "album"subfolders, so when I point to the database in the 2nd computer (PC), it shows all the tracks in the collection but all the music files are missing and I have to manually relocate tracks one by one! (the show all missing tracks, point to the first one and voilá won´t work because the new folder structure!)

Please, some help!
I just want to have database and music files in an external usb stick so I could work in both computers.

Hi, thank you for your reply but, as you can read in my post, thats exactly what I did with the result that I described.

If someone else could help me with this would be great!
Cheers,

Sent to the engineers for follow up. Wanted to make sure that you had done the complete process for sharing a drive with multiple machines. Will post any answers I receive.

The problem is you didn't have your music externally to begin with - you had it INTERNALLY. If you want to have it externally, you need to move the music, then relocate all the files.

Thank you Pulse!

Now works fine, but I discover that the LINK function (LAN) doesn´t work anymore... :(

@Gaston > Sorry for the delay in getting you an answer on this -- if you have setup a new computer or even upgraded rekordbox, quite often you need to reconfigure the firewall in order for the software to link properly.

Take a browse through the read-me to see if the firewall tips help you re-establish that connection.
