Suppose you already typed in something into the search field and now you want to do another search. When you click the cross to erase the original search, it is a normal reaction to immediately start typing for the second search. However this is not possible. After you clicked the cross, you have to click the empty search field and only then you can start to type. I find this quite annoying.
Maybe this can be changed?

use the "search in all" keyboard shortcut, it will jump right to the search window and highlight all thats in there so you can just type. I am not sure what the shortcut is being I changed mine so look in preferences under keyboard shortcuts/general
