1) That's just the way it is, the channel trim should have enough gain to provide adequate signal boost for even the quietest songs, don't worry about how far you need to turn it.
2) Yes, turn the DEPTH knob down!
Hi Everyone, I have 2 quick questions about the S9
1. Is there a way to adjust the trim so the volume goes up when i turn it just a bit. I have to turn it up more than 1/4 to hear that the volume went up. on my 62 i barely turn it and you can hear it get louder right away.
2. When I use the echo effect why does it take for ever to fade out? is there a setting somewhere to adjust the fading out?
Thanks.

Yes But when I turn the depth knob down the echo comes low. I want the echo to come out at normal volume and just fade out rather quickly. Or this is something I need to do manually/
You have two options ... either adjust the timing for a shorter echo timing, or turn the DEPTH knob lower. Try turning the DEPTH knob up toward 3 o'clock and you'll see why it was my original recommendation; increasing the level raises the duration of the tail, to the point where it will echo almost indefinitely (a feedback loop or sorts) if you max the depth all the way to the right.
You could always adjust the HPF value (the secondary parameter on the ECHO) by holding the SHIFT button and using the < and > buttons; I find the best echo sound with the HPF at 3 or 4.
with the latest update the echo only gets lower when i use the wet dry knob. it still keeps repeating for ever.
How do you adjust the timing?
@Alexander > That's not true at all - if you have a 1 beat echo and the depth knob is at 12 o'clock, it will repeat several times and then it's gone, it doesn't repeat forever.
@Jay > Use the < and > buttons.
Well, you are right. I can't reproduce the bug. I can't explane what happend in this one session after the update.
it's now working as expected.
I could swear the first few times I played with the echo I had the depth set at full to the right... ALL the way and it sounded great then one day out of the blue it just started echoing out infinitely in a never ending loop fashion as if a new update with serato was the culprit. After that I had to back the depth back to at least 3/4. I found that odd because I could swear it worked more like the echo of the DJM-909 before that happened.
