DDJ-SR. lasted a year and a half so sad.

I am so diapointed that my pioneer did not last longer than a year in a half. the clocking mechanism stops working but everything else works and I get sorry you got to spend $350 to fix it so sad they would do this. the funny thing is this was used in my house only and here it is i was going to buy the sz2 thanks.

@Scorpio35 > Sorry to hear about your issue, but I'm confused - so sad who would do what? Pioneer doesn't manufacture equipment to fail intentionally.

I do understand that they do not manufacture equipment to fail intentionally it just sucks cause I picked up the controller because of how tough they say there equipment is but this one has never seen the outside and the clocking mechanism on one side does not work. I can touch it and it will stop play so I know it is not a ground issue. I can do everything on that side but slow and drawback on it. So I know the clocking is not being picked up. I have another controller from a different maker an used it in rain and I mean rain got all over it and it is 8years old and it still works like new.  I was hoping for a great experience with the pioneer controller before I upgraded. now just unsure cause $600 for the controller plus $350 is the price of the SX controller. Now its the same price for the SR controller as the SX. I don't know anyone who would like to pay the same price for the SR as the SX. I would have just got the SX.

I understand the frustration, but again, it's not the intention of any equipment to fail prematurely. The repair costs seem unreasonable when compared to the initial purchase price of the product, but that's likely due to their service rate, not necessarily a cost for parts required to fix the issue. Would an SX have had a similar fate? Again, I would hope not, but if it had, would you feel the same way if it needed repair and the cost was also $350? What if you had purchased the SZ for $2000 and the same thing happened with a similar repair cost? Would the issue be that it was a $2000 controller that failed after 18 months or that it was $350 to repair? I'm guessing it would still be a complaint about the life span.

Unfortunately the cost you've been quoted is possibly the best you could do on a repair, or your alternative is to roll that forward to your next purchase - hopefully it's Pioneer DJ.

Hopefully it would not happen to a SX or SZ. Then tell your costumer sorry about your luck cause that costumer would not be happy or buy that again. I always love to own pioneer but when you volunteer your time to schools and kids and towns and have a child of your own with heart problems you don't have the money to just pay that kind of money. So taken case by case would just be nice. if I was out making thousands then I would say hey its just the cost business. I was trying to leave out what I do but there it is. so look at it from that point. my problem I do know but now it is a paper weight till taxes. when I could be showing kids what it is like to dj on professional equipment at no cost lots of kids love to dj and no one to show them with out a cost but I do that so when a bill of $350 comes up in a short time like that it sucks to here sorry about your luck. I try to upgrade as much as I can for kids and schools so they know what it is like to work on these professional equipment other wise they would have that opportunity.

I applaud your efforts for volunteering and I'm sorry to hear of the medical issues, but our forum support team is incapable of providing any kind of consideration for the repairs as we're not directly connected to the technical support/repair network. I would suggest you try and contact your local Pioneer office to see if there's anything they can do for you.

Yay I did that and price came from them I still got to wait for tax money to do it.

Don't think I'm bashing the company. I love the lay out of my controller and Serato. This is just how I did not want my first experience with pioneer to be.
