Rekordbox and DDJ RX Problems

To whom it may concern.

Hi,

I am having many problems with my Rekordbox software when used in conjunction with the DDJ RX.

The laptop i am currently running is the Alienware 15 R2. It is 3 months old.

Intel Core i7 6700HQ CPU at 3.6Ghz

16gb of memory

Windows 10 64bit

128mb SSD m2.1

1Tb HDD

As you can see the hardware is more than enough to supply the demands of any software.

Current version of Rekordbox 4.0.8 (32bit)

Firmware is version 1.02

Driver is the latest

My problems:

When using the rekordbox software in conjuction with the DDJ RX, the CPU usage is at 70% - 100% with nothing else open but the software...I achieved these statistics using the program CPU-Z and Windows task bar.

As it hits peak CPU usage, the sound will skip and glitch. Also the waveform on the software will disappear for sometimes 30 seconds or more on both tracks that are being played. This in turn also effects the controller itself. When using the effect buttons, they are very slow and delayed to respond. Eg When wanting to use some reverb, ill push the on button and the light will not illuminate for 2 - 3 seconds (sometimes more) and in turn get no reverb until the light is illuminated.

This applies to all effects.

I have tried adjusting the buffer size/latency and still cant get a stable and reliable DJing experience using this software. I have NO faith at all using this software live.

Possible Solutions:

Is there a 64bit version that i am unaware of?

Is there a setting that i am unaware of?

Is there a solution?

I owned the DDJ SX using Serato DJ and i must say that was a lot cheaper and by far more reliable to use and would have no problem playing live.

Regards,

David

Yes that is my problem, but it's not just utilising a massive amount of processing power to run this software, it's effecting my DJing experience significantly because the system can't handle it for unknown reasons...

I have even contacted Dell Pro Support concerning my matter and they have no explanation for why a single program would have such high demands of cpu utilisation.

I run many audio programs and video editing and rendering software which demand a lot of processing power and sometimes it will peak to 100% but it doesn't stay under full load the entirety of using the program...

There needs to be a fix asap.

@David > Are you possibly running any CPU optimization / booster / overclocking applications? I know Alienware used to ship with those installed, but that was also before Dell took over.

Your processor has 4 cores, so you should actually get up to 400% processing; 70% isn't that taxing on your system.

I have tried running at standard and overclocked. Made little to no difference. Your correct, it's a multi core processor and does have 4 cores but when I refer to 100% I mean on all threads not just a single thread.

I noticed that the version of rekordbox I have is 32 bit, is there a 64bit version coming out or is out?
