I can confirm this. Compared do mixx or Serato analyzing the tracks takes A LOT longer (i'm talking about hours difference on the same folder)

FollowRekordbox 4 and above causing huge CPU lag
So this issue has been affecting me since RB 4 came out and it seems to only occur when analyzing new music. It will analyse the song up untill 99% where it will hang for a period of time. If you try play any songs, analyse another track or try use rb too quickly it will lock up and freeze. This has only started happening on RB 4 and above and the pc im using should have no trouble with it. :(
Would love some help please!

When analyzing your files try disabling your antivirus/firewall all together. See if this helps. I have all the .exe files within Rekordbox "Allowed in my firewall but sometimes I still experience this same problem. When I disabled the firewall it doesn't hang up at 99%.
firewall wont help in the case they are saying, I have this on my mac too (no firewall) and have reported it, When it gets to the end it hangs on each track, analyzing in 4.x.x is way longer then 3, i know it gets a little bit more data but they hang a lot
@Lukas > Does it ever finish that track analysis? Does it complete if you restart rekordbox or force-analyse that one track? Trying to ascertain if it's a problem with the track itself or something else.
@Pulse, Yes, eventually it will finish analyzing whether I restart rb or not. Seems to just take a lot longer and if you try to perform any other tasks whilst its analyzing it will more often than not crash. I've tried re-analyzing individual tracks as well as multiple tracks at once and they all follow the same problem.
@Dj Bass, Disabling protection did work to some extent but still doesn't stop the hang completely
Indeed. At 99% it "hangs" for a bit then finishes and passes to the next song.
The AV could be an issue, but then again, why only at 99%? It it was because the scan on access it would affect the analysis as soon as the song is accessed, not at the very end, i think.
Still happens with the AV off, anyway. (just tested)
AV off or on, gets to 96% starts "slowing down", and at 99% hangs for 10 full seconds each time before starting another file.
It doesn't seem to affect the speed on the analysis either that seems on par with other apps.
Even if it is to write the key / bpm to the metadata, it doesn't makes any sense. Apps like medival id3tag or foobar2000 (that I use for replaygain) are quite fast doing the same.
It is not the AV and I fail to see where a firewall could impact on this. And BTW, mine is on the router, not on the OS
@Tiago Fortuna, Perfectly described it, right down to the 96% part as well. I thought I was the only one!
