Rekordbox NTFS / FAT 32

Hi ,

The situation : I'm using an external hard drive with all my music on it in Itunes and my rekordbox database on it. So all my DJ necessities ( songs and playlists ) are on there. I prepare my sets at home on Windows desktop BUT I play my sets on Rekordbox DJ on my Macbook Pro .. So both have to be able to read the external hard drive, so I formatted it FAT32.

Not really a big fan of the FAT32 system ( many times my macbook does not recognize the hard drive .. big trouble)  .. but there is no other way , is there ?

formatting it NTFS .. means it would be read only on my macbook , can I use it in Rekordbox DJ than (since I'm not adapting the files only using them in Rekordbox) or is this not possible ?

Any other suggestions ? Other solutions for the use of Mac and Windows (I know it's asking for problems but I can't afford an Imac or anything AND I like windows )

Greets

AFAIK you'll be stuck on FAT32.

I really don't know why FAT is still used on flash/pen drives (by default they're formatted this way for compability).

FAT32 sucks and more so on devices which keep being (dis)connected without unmounting which leads more often than not to corruption.

Why manufacturers insist on this is beyond me :/

Indeed a really anoying format .. If I had any alternative would use it immediatly but no ..

Unmounting is a big issue indeed , since a year or so I'm really carefull with it cause hard drive clearly does not like beiing unmountend in a not conventional way :s

Ok so .. no solution
