Rekordbox on CDJ400

Hi there,

Would love a quick response as I'm very close to purchasing a pair of cdj400s with a djm400 mixer.

Are CDJ400s rekordbox compatible now???? Can I export my songs with added cue points (or at least one cue point) onto a USB and then play them on them? If not, what is my alternative? Should I just get cdj350s or should I save and get 850s in a years time.

Thanks

Answer is NO. Rekordbox DJ is compatible with CDJ 400 but exporting to USB with cue points doesn't work, or with CDJ 350. I would stay away from 850, it's a very old model with quite a few disadvantages, instead go for the XDJ series if you don't plan to use CD'S.

Hey mate, thanks for the response. So it does not export cue points but will my songs be arranged into my playlists and artists on the cdj400?

What are the issues with the 850s? I am on a very tight budget and don't particularly like the XDJ series all that much.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure playlists won't work on the 400, but don't quote me on that.

The 850 is a 6 year old model with unusable master tempo, major looping issues, BPM-counter that goes bananas at times and it lacks, for me, vital things as link and a proper display. Would you buy a 6 year old computer? Go for the new models, even the low end XDJ's have most things sorted.

Thanks mate! Really helpful info. I think i'll just save and go for some 900s in a couple of months!

The original 900's are quite good if you're on a budget. But do keep in mind that the master tempo is more or less unusable, sound deteriorates seriously over or under 3%. But except for that they are good units. The nexus version is awesome, but will cost quite a bit more than a pair of used 900's...
