Rekordbox explorer reveals external devices only via USB and only in Import mode

Hello! Due to the fact that rekordbox explorer can't see my partition hard drive I tryied to connect an external HDD to rekordbox. Firstly I tryed to connect it via FireWire cable. My HDD appeared on my Mac's explorer but not in my rekordbox's explorer tree. When I connected the same drive via usb cable it showed up correctly and I was wondering if rekordbox only recognises devices via USB and for this reason cannot see my partition which is of course SATA and only can recognise the system partition. Except this if you connect a HDD or a flash stick you have to turn to import mode first and then to performance for the explorer to see it. This is very annoying because if you are performing and you want to connect a flash drive to load a song from it in the middle of the gig you just can't! Please fix!

Thank you very much.

Myself and others have posted about this issue ! A lot of DJs I have talked to are not happy with Rekordbox DJ ! No DVS, No MIDI, Not able to read external drives !!!! And only works with Pioneer controllers ! . You pay £99 for the software, but will then have to pay more money for all the plus packs too !!!! Everyone is saying they are sticking with Traktor or Serato for now.

@Neil > Not everyone is saying that... and with both Traktor and Serato you are paying additional to have DVS support, so I don't understand that complaint.

@giannis > Correct; only USB devices are supported under the DEVICE list, this is because you can only EXPORT to USB drives, not FW, Thunderbolt, eSATA, etc. They can certainly be used as source drives.

You can also not use EXPORT drives as sources for playback in PERFORMANCE mode as the export database is not designed for connection to the internal database, and songs contained therein should already be in your collection anyhow.

Yes Pulse but this is wrong. A dj program must be easy to use at every situation. when for example you play on a wedding party and someone gives you a usb flash drive, rekordbox must see it and have the ability to analyse it. i cannot even use my partition drive which I have all my music in it....Q sorry but this is unacceptable. I fully understand that its the very beggining of RB Performance mode but some problems are very important to be fixed.

@giannis > You CAN do that! You have the ability to import a track from a USB drive and it will analyse. You just can't do it from a rekordbox export device.

Maybe Pulse but surely I cannot access my partition hard drive which I have all my music. What about this? Rekordbox can't see it. This is the most important thing of all because I cannot use RB to play to a club for example and I am stuck to Traktor yet. I am a DDJ-RZ owner. do we have  a future fix for this?

I run a bar at home, and manage over 20 DJs there, we have all been talking about RBDJ, and EVERYONE I have talked to has said they are sticking with Traktor or Serato until Pioneer pull their finger out and make RBDJ more usable. You don't have DVS, But its coming soon ! You don't have MIDI ! But its coming soon !! You can't import Rekordbox files into Rekordbox DJ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What were you thinking ?????? Your Pioneer ! All these things should have been ready before release. I was so looking forward to Rekordbox DJ, but its just not good enough at the moment !  This is customer feedback from someone who has been DJing for over 21 years !
