Hi.
I play a lot of self-encoded AAC files (.m4a extension) in my XDJ-R1. I play them without problems though stupidly enough the machine does it out of USB only, not discs. MP3, WAV and AIF it does from discs, but AAC it doesn't? Difficult to understand but hey, the manual says that so can't complain.
Manual also says that 'only up to 99 minutes of AAC files can be played'. This puzzles me. Could you please explain what this exactly means? Is it that it’ll play only the first 99 minutes of a (for example) long, 120 minutes AAC session file or is it that it can play an undetermined number of AAC files but up to a total of 99 minutes, then you should turn the unit off? If this limit is reached, what happens? Will the playback just stop, or will the deck freeze with that already mentioned high ‘horn-like’ tone, maybe? My deck keeps freezing like that all the time and I’m desperate about the situation. I bet there’s no connection between the AAC limitation and the freezing as the deck fails like that with cds also, but any comments will be highly appreciated.
