DDJ SX and Rekordbox DJ

Hi,

I have an XDJ RX, and I went and bought a DDJ SX on eBay the other night, when I'd had a few drinks! I didn't think I'd win at £420 with 6 hours to go, but I did!

It's due to arrive tomorrow, and I have a few questions about the unit. Obviously I have Rekordbox on my Laptop as I have the XDJ RX, so all of my tracks are all set up with the beatgrids and whatnot. I understand the DDJ SX is compatible with Rekordbox, but as it's designed to be used with Serato, is it "better" with Serato than Rekordbox? Pioneer has released the DDJ RX, which I assume has better functionality with Rekordbox than the SX. I'd rather not have to start all over again with Serato, as I've just re-beatgridded all of my tracks, some 2000 odd, as I switched from windows to a MacBook recently.

It looks like a fun bit of kit all the same, so hopefully I'll have some fun with it.

Yes, the DDJ-SX is compatible with rekordbox dj.  Yes, the DDJ-RX does have more rekordbox dj friendly hardware features than the DDJ-SX, but you will still be able to do quite a bit.   Yes, you can use any rekordbox-compatible Pioneer DJ device on any computer running rekordbox.

Also, will it be an issue if I'm trying to run the DDJ SX off of the same MacBook that I use to export my tracks for use on the XDJ RX? I know I had to select that it's the RX that I'm using to export the tracks to a USB...

On the free plan for rekordbox 6 right now. To be able to use my DDJ SX which subscription plan do I need?

@Ed > The Core plan would be all you need unless you're looking for the Cloud Sync or Video functions at this time.
