XDJ - RX problem

Hi Guys,

i have some problems with my new XDJ – RX, which i got today (Sept. 2nd 2015). Let me describe these problems (there are 2 so far):

The first one is, although i have auto play turned off, when i load a track, it starts playing automatically.

The second problem is, that when a track is playing and i press the play/pause button, the track won’t stop, instead it’s like you engaged a ¼ loop. But the funny thing is that the time on the display stops and so does the wave form (so on the display it looks like the track has stopped). A thing to note is that the LED level meter stays up, though. When i press the play/pause button again, the track plays on normal.

The firmware is up to date (1.60).

I bought it on Sunday and it arrived today, so i didn’t do anything. Maybe the buttons (all this occurs on both decks by the way) are broken?

Thank you guys, i hope someone could help me.

Greetings,
Lukas

@Lukas > Congrats on the new gear. These are both easy problems, first time users occasionally have these questions with many Pioneer products!

1) Enable AUTO CUE by pressing and holding the auto cue button, you'll see A.CUE appear in the display, meaning when a track is loaded, it will cue to the first part of audio (or first hot cue, if you have that setting selected).

2) The short loop is known as a "stutter cue," heralding from the early days of CDJs where there was no vinyl mode. To assist a DJ in setting their cue point, the player would loop one frame of audio. This is perfectly normal, but if you'd rather not hear it, set the player to Vinyl mode instead.

Enjoy!

The second one I can answer, when you press the play/pause & it goes into what sounds like a stutter, press the cue button to stop it, that should then become your cue point. When it's in its stuttering state, you can use the platter to alter/find your cue point.
The first one I should know because I had the same issue, but can't remember! I will have a think.

No worries. If you have any other questions about the RX, just come back and post a new question, we'll be happy to assist.

Is it possible to disable completely the stutter cue without set the player to vinyl mode? The stutter really makes me crazy!

@Tiana > Enable vinyl mode, per above, and it will work as you expect.
