Windows 10 Pro

Hi all,

Until now I have been running on Windows 7Pro 64Bit on my Laptop. Is it now safe to say that I can finally upgrade to Windows 10 pro with a clean install? I have been searching through the forums and have not found any major issues.

I have all my tracks on an External Hard Drive, is there anything I should know before I start?

Your inputs a greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Sergio D

Hi Sergio,

I have been using RekordBox Performance pretty much since the first version and on Windows 10 all the time, I recently upgraded my Win 10 home to Pro to hook it into our domain and all is still great - currently using Version 4.1.2 and is stable (for me anyway). Very happy with how the updates are proceeding....

My recommendation would be for you to make sure you have a backup of your database and music, and if you have rekordbox DJ, be sure to DEACTIVATE the license first through the rekordbox settings.

Once you're updated, re-activate rekordbox, restore your database and music, install the new drivers, and presto!

Hi Sergio,

Yes, I got the digital entitlement activated and then did a clean install, always better I find to start from fresh. I didn't have any issues with drivers for my Asus N550 i7 lappy but saying that, that doesn't mean you won't have issues. My thing would be follow Pulse's advice above and also take a FULL backup (disk image) of your PC, that way if anything goes wrong you can always restore as though you hadn't tried the upgrade. There are plenty of image software's out there, I personally use Acronis True Image 2016 and have to say it has saved my bacon on a couple of occasions.

Hi Guys,

Thanks again for the inputs. You guys are great.

John I have acquired the Acronis Software and it was also Recommended by Western Digital since I am using My cloud for backing up everything here.

Pulse, I new I forgot something, In the process of UPGRADING I forgot to Deactivate Rekordbox DJ. I will email support for that if I have any issues.

I will pos back with my final results.

Regards

Re: deactivation - you can license two computers, and there is a possibility it may simply re-register, but if it doesn't or you can't activate a second computer, you can file a rekordbox support inquiry and they can assist with the licensing issue.

Hi Guys,

Just a heads up, the transition went smoothly. Not one issue at all. Loaded Rekordbox, the Reactivation with Rekordbox DJ had not problems at all. Again toy guys are great with your inputs and support.

Thank You

Sergio
