recording help

hi, im having trouble recording my mixes, at first I tried using a jack to phono lead plugging the jack into my laptop but couldn't pick any sound up through audacity and had no line in option tried on two laptops and was told it was my laptops soundcard so I was advised to get a behringer u - control UCA202 which ive just received. im struggling to figure how to set it up ive put an rca lead from the booth on my mixer to the input on the u control and still getting no sound can anyone help please? thanks

OLAH Arran. My Obvious experience in two options:

1.- Connect RCA Output (rec output // Master 1 output or Booth output with volume output, of course) To Input U-Control UCA202 and USB to Laptop

Check the Soundcard inputs in Record Software to be sure the sound is entering in Record program like Audacity or other.

2.- Connect RCA Output (rec output // Master 1 output or Booth output with volume output, of course) To Input micro/headphones Laptop with an RCA/Minijack stereo cable

Check the Soundcard inputs in Record Software to be sure the sound is entering in Record program like Audacity or other throw the mixer Windows audio settings.
