Trial DVS pack if you already purchased Rekordbox DJ

No, unfortunately the trial is only available in the trial mode of rekordbox DJ, if you already own a license you must purchase the DVS pack as there is no separate trial for DVS, sorry.

Does this honestly sound right to you though? I was looking into this when the DVS pack first came out and this is the way I see things. I currently own and have ALL the documentation for:

CDJ-2000NXS x 2

I also purchased the Rekordbox Plus pack day one. NOW I am not entitled to the DVS pack nor can I try it out for free yet some random dude having NEVER purchased a single product from Pio can have the DVS pack this very day for the price of $9.90/mo. If I am also not mistaken the price for the monthly subscription did NOT go up at all yet the people who actually paid full price for RBDJ DO have to pay more for DVS.

I consider myself an all around positive guy but this seems VERY wrong. I already wrote to support and got my 6 word reply saying "sorry you must purchase Rekordbox DVS" so trust I know my place but it still seems wrong.

As I said I purchased RBDJ day one and NEVER used my one month free trial. I assume I still have this available to me (along with DVS pack) or did Pioneer take that away from me as an additional reward for purchasing RBDJ?

@Dave > I understand the frustration in that you have purchased many products yet still had to pay for a rekordbox DJ license, the licensing model that Pioneer DJ implemented was such that only DDJ-R series products would ship with a free license, all others, including the more expensive CDJ-2000NXS2's, would require a purchase. The reason for this is all other products can use rekordbox without performance mode, either as a stand-alone unit or connecting via the ProDJ link. DDJ-S products all come with a license for Serato DJ (except the SB).

I've asked our product team if there is the ability for users to use the DVS plus-pack in a trial mode, but currently no such mechanism exists.

I would expect that if you deactivated your current installation, registered a trial with a different email address, then activated it, you may be able to test-run the DVS for free as part of the trial.

Hmmm that actually may work. So if I deactivate one of my laptops I should be able to attempt the trial. Do you suspect any issues in using the same e-mail address that I have RBDJ purchased from?

Yeah, chances are you'll have to try a different email address, and don't just deactivate the laptop but also sign out of the KUVO account (under the Help menu).

So the answer is that yes, you can deactivate your installation, then activate a trial license. You may be able to use the same email address, that wasn't 100% clear.

Awesome. Thanks for looking into this for me. Just as an idea maybe reset the trial period for those looking to try DVS. Other expansions I can understand letting it go but DVS is substantial enough where it may be the deciding factor for some and from what I am hearing the function is strong enough with RBDJ where this could be a huge benefit in the long run.

Sorry, the trial period can't be reset - other users have previously asked this and unfortunately the license server isn't configured to allow that kind of function.
